Are we really going to act surprised that Taylor Swift was recognized as TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year?
Whether your arms are stacked with Eras Tour friendship bracelets and you blast “Shake It Off” and “Karma” after every slight inconvenience, OR you feel as though you just can’t seem to escape the blonde girl who writes too many breakup songs — you HAVE to admit that she has the world in a chokehold. And, yes, I mean the world, as the country-turned-pop icon has sold 54,000 tickets for EACH of the 146 different stops on her Eras Tour — which spans five continents. So… I’ll ask again. Are we really that surprised that she and her cat won TIME Magazine’s Person of the Year? Wait a minute…
Yes, Taylor Swift is currently on the cover of TIME Magazine with her CAT draped around her neck… flexing like an acrobat, some might say.
While this is honestly an adorable and iconic photo, we do find it hilarious. How did Benjamin Button (yes, that’s her cat’s name) end up around her neck and on the cover of TIME? Well, Taylor shared the short but oh-so meaningful story on Twitter.
If you’re a Swiftie, then you know how fitting this is for the cat to be in the photo. Should we all try to get our pets to pose like this with us for the holiday cards this year?
Alright. Time to go listen to 1989 TV again. We’ll continue to keep you updated with all things Disney (and very important pop culture, clearly), so make sure to follow along for more!
