Happy New Year from Disney World!
We’re celebrating the best way we know how — around the parks, of course! The holidays are known for being some of the busiest times throughout the entire year, so is New Year’s Day any different? Come along with us to find out!
Apparently, folks are tired from all the late-night partying they did on New Year’s Eve, because we were SHOCKED by how low the crowds felt in Magic Kingdom this morning.

Driving in
The front entrance was still busy, but just normal busy and not “oh my goodness, what is even happening” busy.

Not terrible
It’s certainly not an empty park by any means, but compared to the crowds we’ve been seeing the last few days, today feels downright chill.

Pretty quiet!
On Main Street, U.S.A., we could actually see the pavement, which hasn’t been true all week. Usually, it’s been too crowded to do that!

Is that…PAVEMENT we see?
It was a bit busier by Cinderella Castle, but still not nearly as bad as yesterday or Christmas Eve.

Adventureland was pretty quiet — there was just one family in line at Aloha Isle Refreshments, so you could get your DOLE Whip without a wait here!

Frontierland felt more crowded than Adventureland, but Big Thunder Mountain Railroad still had just a 55-minute wait time around 11AM, which isn’t terrible.

The wait times around the park proved that it’s still fairly busy, although not nearly as bad as the past week.

Adventureland
Around 11AM EST, Haunted Mansion and “it’s a small world” had 45-minute waits, but Jingle Cruise had nearly DOUBLE that with an 80-minute wait.

Peter Pan’s Flight was at 75 minutes, and Pirates of the Caribbean had a pretty high wait for this ride at 55 minutes.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train and Space Mountain had 120-minute and 80-minute waits, respectively.

There were still some walk-on or almost-walk-on attractions in the park, with the Enchanted Tiki Room at 15 minutes, the PeopleMover at 5 minutes, the Prince Charming Regal Carrousel at 5 minutes, and the Swiss Family Treehouse at 5 minutes.

It’s the PeopleMover!!
When it comes to Genie+ pricing, today’s prices match the lower crowds. It’s a bit cheaper today than it’s been recently, with the multi-park option and Magic Kingdom costing $35, EPCOT costing $25, Hollywood Studios at $30, and Animal Kingdom at $20.

For the past week or so, the multi-park option and Magic Kingdom have been $4 more expensive, at $39 (a record-high price for Disney Genie+).

We’ll continue to update this post as we keep an eye on crowd levels in Disney World today!
