Disney World is home to some pretty amazing eats, but if you ask us — some of the best places aren’t in the parks or even at Disney Springs!
For this one, we’re talking about one of the resorts on Disney World property, specifically Disney’s Old Key West Resort! And if you’re in the mood for something quick, we’re bringing you with us to check out a spot you might not have known existed!
We stopped by Good’s Food to Go at Disney’s Old Key West Resort to check out a couple of things they had on the menu — the Tuna Salad Sandwich, Kettle Chip Loaded Nachos, Mango Rum-barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich, and the Key Lime Swirl!
Tuna Salad Sandwich
Let’s start with the Tuna Salad Sandwich! For $9.99, you get Olivia’s famous Tuna Salad, Lettuce, Tomato, and Pickle on Multigrain Bread.
The first thing you have to know, this is a build-your-own type of sandwich experience. They provide you with all the fixings, but you have to assemble it yourself.
It comes with pickles, lettuce, and tomato to top your sandwich. We found the salad to be a bit wet, but it was probably because it was melting in the Florida heat. Aside from that, it honestly is a pretty good tuna salad. It’s got a strong tuna flavor, albeit it did taste a lot of pickle, but that’s because they were on top.
If you like thick sandwiches like we do, you’ll find there isn’t enough salad or toppings for all four slices of bread. All in all, it was a good sandwich and it does come with chips.
Kettle Chip Loaded Nachos
Next up, we’ve got the Kettle Chip Loaded Nachos! For $9.99, you get House-made Fried Chips topped with Barbecued Pulled Pork, Cheese Sauce, Salsa, and Sour Cream.
Let’s start with the base — the chips. They’re well seasoned with paprika. Next, the pulled pork was juicy and had a sweet BBQ flavor.
The sour cream and tomatoes added brightness and it had our favorite plastic cheese topping it all off.
Overall, we felt these were better than expected! The only issue we had was that the chips get SO soggy and that happens quickly.
Mango Rum-barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich
Next up, we’ve got the Mango Rum-barbecued Pulled Pork Sandwich! For $9.99, you get a mango-rum barbecued pulled pork sandwich topped with coleslaw on a brioche bun.
First up, the pulled pork is juicy and the sauce is sweet. Speaking of the sauce, it’s not overly sauced so it doesn’t get the fluffy bun soggy.
The coleslaw adds a nice crunch to the mix and the portion is just right. Any more and it would be too much coleslaw.
The chips you get with the sandwich are kettle and paprika spiced. Overall, it’s a pretty good sandwich, maybe not stellar, but it is better than most burgers you can find at Disney.
Key Lime Swirl
Last up, we’ve got the Key Lime Swirl! For $5.29, you get a DOLE Whip Lime and Vanilla Swirl topped with Graham Cracker Crumbs.
As toppings go, the graham crackers on top are shredded so fine that they don’t add much texture to this swirl. Next, when it comes to the flavor of this one, it tastes like regular lime.
We do find that the vanilla does tone down the tartness, so if you want a full punch of tartness, you may want to consider getting this without the vanilla. Overall, we think this swirl is very refreshing!
We definitely recommend grabbing a bite to eat at Good’s Food to Go, so make sure you go check it out while you can!
