Another refurbishment will soon be underway at Magic Kingdom.
Part of the queue for Dumbo the Flying Elephant will be undergoing refurbishment starting this month, so be on the lookout for updates!
Starting on February 24th, the indoor children’s playground in the Dumbo the Flying Elephant queue will be closed for refurbishment. According to Disney, it is expected to reopen sometime in the Spring of 2025.
Luckily, while the playground refurbishment is ongoing, the ride will remain open for you and your kids to enjoy!
Typically, you can take your kiddos into the big-top tent by the ride “to let your wild animals frolic” in the air-conditioned playground while you wait for your turn to board the ride. But during this refurbishment, this option will not be available. Instead, you’ll remain in the line for the ride.
On the Dumbo the Flying Elephant ride, you can enjoy an airborne adventure. Choose to fly high or stay low over the water as you go round and round. It’s a classic favorite ride at Magic Kingdom located at Storybook Circus. The ride will continue to be available during the playground’s refurbishment, so don’t miss out on your chance to soar with Dumbo!
While you’re at Storybook Circus in Fantasyland, you can also enjoy the new search-and-sniff Smellephants on Parade experience featuring Scentsy fragrances! You start at the ticket booth in front of Big Top Souvenirs to grab a map of the land and a sticker sheet. Then find all eight Smellephants statues using the map and the stickers to track your progress. This is a fun, free activity for everyone!
While the indoor playground at Dumbo the Flying Elephant will be closed starting on January 27th, you can still ride the attraction and participate in lots of other fun activities around Storybook Circus!
