Disney filed a permit for work to be done at the Tree of Life in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, which currently houses It’s Tough to Be a Bug.
The permit was filed on February 3rd, 2025, and is for work to be done by a contractor called Westbrook Service Corporation.
However, before we get too excited about a permit being filed, let’s look at what the permit is likely for. The permit is for “general construction” at the address of the Tree of Life. The work is to be done by Westbrook Service Corporation, an HVAC contractor based out of Orlando.
So, while the permit isn’t for the demolition of It’s Tough to be a Bug or anything, it is possible that work is being done for the eventual addition of the new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”
Disney recently announced the official closing date of It’s Tough to Be a Bug in Disney’s Animal Kingdom. The show will be closing on March 17th, 2025, to begin work on the new show, “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” If you want one last chance to see all the bugs in all the glory, you need to stop by Animal Kingdom by March 16th. “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” is opening in the winter of 2025.
“Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” will be debuting at the end of this year. Guests will see Judy Hopps, Nick Wilde, and even more characters from Zootopia. Disney has stated that the show “will take guests on an adventure through different biomes seen in the film.” We are excited to see what surprises this new show has in store for us!
Disney has been hard at work filing LOTS of permits recently, including over 40 permits last week. Permits were filed for Haunted Mansion, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, Test Track, and so much more!
“Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” isn’t the only thing changing at Disney World in 2025; make sure to check out our video to learn more about all the changes happening at Disney World:
