We’ve waited for this day for over a YEAR, and now, after what feels like forever, it’s FINALLY time for the public to ride this iconic EPCOT attraction again!
Test Track closed in June of 2024 to transform the 2.0 version into 3.0. Today, July 22nd, Test Track 3.0 has officially reopened to the public! We got the chance to ride the attraction a few weeks ago, and we’re thrilled that all guests now get to experience this new reimagined version. We have to admit, though, seeing THESE crowds today was NOT what we expected!
Disney already announced that Test Track would reopen immediately with a Standby queue and will be part of Lightning Lane Multi Pass. There will be no Virtual Queue for this attraction, which means there’s no pre-planning involved, unless you’re purchasing Lightning Lane Multi Pass.
So what do crowds look like in said standby queue on the first day of its reopening? Before we even stepped foot in the park, crowds at the entrance and around the park weren’t as bad as we were anticipating.

First thing in the morning!
Once we got closer to the park actually opening, people started turning up!

Here they are!
Around the ride itself, we immediately noticed that at around 12 minutes after the park had opened, the crowds were already filling up the queue. The line had extended out of the extended queue, almost to the World Showcase entrance.

The line!

Disney was prepared with the extended queue outside of the ride. People filled up the line despite the sun blaring down! The Single Rider Line is open today; however, Cast Members warned us that there is no expected time for it. If you choose to go into the single rider line, remember your parties will be split up if you choose to go in this line. Traditionally, this is a faster line, but we can’t say that for certain in the first week or two of reopening.

The extended queue!
During the first few weeks of this ride’s reopening, expect wait times to be pretty long! While this version doesn’t beat the original Test Track (aka, World of Motion), lots of guests are in agreement that this new version does beat its previous edition. We’re thinking that we’ll see wait times easily above 100 minutes for at least the first few months of the ride’s operation!
