While Disney World is known for its rides, shows, and nighttime entertainment, if you’re looking to relax while on vacation, look no further than your Disney resort pool!

Stormalong Bay
I have swam in different Disney World resort pools, and I’ve definitely developed some favorites. Each pool has its own unique charm. From the atmosphere to the amenities to how easy it is to grab a snack or drink while you relax. Whether you’re planning a rest day or just want to make the most of those pool hours, these are the three resort pools that truly stand out.
1. Stormalong Bay – Disney’s Yacht & Beach Club Resorts
If you’re looking for the ultimate pool day at Disney, Stormalong Bay is unbeatable. Shared between Disney’s Yacht Club and Beach Club Resorts, this massive sand-bottom pool feels more like a mini water park than a hotel pool. You can float along the lazy river or zoom down one of the best waterslides on property. The slide even starts from a shipwreck across the walkway! When hunger strikes, Hurricane Hanna’s Waterside Bar & Grill serves up delicious drinks and easy bites, and you’re only steps from the Beaches & Cream Soda Shop walk-up window for an iconic ice cream cone.

Stormalong Bay
Families and pool lovers alike will be obsessed with Stormalong Bay. Kids can spend hours in the water or the slide area, while adults can lounge with a cocktail and soak up the resort’s seaside charm. Its location along Crescent Lake means you’re close to EPCOT and the BoardWalk, making it ideal for anyone who loves to mix relaxation with easy park access and dining convenience.

Stormalong Bay
This pool underwent an extensive refurbishment since January 2025 for maintenance and reopened in June. Hurricane Hanna’s also saw an update to their menu with brand new items. Overall, there is a reason this resort pool is so popular for Disney guests. It is so well themed and a great place to spend a hot summer afternoon.

2. Samawati Springs Pool – Disney’s Animal Kingdom Villas: Kidani Village
Tucked away at Kidani Village, the Samawati Springs Pool is one of Disney’s most underrated gems. Because it’s a bit of a walk from the main Jambo House, it’s often quieter, which makes it a perfect escape from the park crowds. The pool area is lush and beautifully themed, surrounded by tropical greenery that gives it a serene, private feel. There’s also a great waterslide, plenty of shaded seating, and a peaceful hot tub area for unwinding.

Samawati Springs Pool
But what really sets Samawati Springs apart is Uwanja Camp, an incredible splash pad and play area for kids. It’s full of water cannons, climbing structures, and sprinklers that could keep little ones entertained for hours. Families with young children will absolutely love it here, while adults will appreciate the calm, uncrowded vibe. If you’re staying at Kidani or just want a low-key pool day away from the busier resorts, this is the perfect spot.

Maji Pool Bar
3. Lava Pool – Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
The Lava Pool at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort is pure vacation magic. With a view overlooking Seven Seas Lagoon and Cinderella Castle in the distance, the tropical atmosphere is unmatched. The pool features a volcano with a thrilling waterslide and a zero-entry area that’s perfect for lounging in the shallow water. The lush landscaping, tiki torches, and Hawaiian music make you feel like you’ve escaped to the islands without ever leaving Walt Disney World.

Lava Pool
What makes the Polynesian Lava Pool even better is everything that surrounds it. You’re steps away from Trader Sam’s Tiki Terrace, the pool bar, and Captain Cook’s for quick and tasty bites (hello, pulled pork nachos and Dole Whip!). Whether you’re traveling as a couple wanting to soak in the atmosphere with a drink or a family looking for a fun yet relaxing pool day with views of Magic Kingdom fireworks, the Lava Pool offers the perfect mix of energy, scenery, and classic Disney vibes.
