As a Corn Dog Connoisseur, I Am CONCERNED About This New Disney World Snack

I’m somewhat of a corn dog connoisseur. Seriously, just ask my coworkers here at DFB. It’s a well-known fact that I’m passionate about deep-fried hot dogs (and hot dogs in general, really). A glizzy hates to see me coming.

So, just imagine how excited I was when it was announced that Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs would be opening on Disney World’s BoardWalk (pretty darn excited). Now that Blue Ribbon has been around Disney World for a bit, our reporters have gotten the chance to experience a ton of wacky and unique creations — from pickle corn dogs to deep-fried Hawaiian rolls. But, whoever came up with this new creation deserves to go straight to jail.

Listen, I don’t balk at innovation and creativity. Shoot for the moon and you’ll land among the stars or something like that. But I can’t imagine that this new offering from Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs will be anything other than a textural nightmare. Introducing the Salmon Dog.

Yes, you read that correctly. It’s a salmon corn dog, and it will be available for a limited time at Blue Ribbon starting on November 21st.

It’s a piece of salmon with a slab of cream cheese on top, tempura battered and fried, and topped with Sriracha mayo, sushi sauce, and sprinkled with sesame seeds. Theoretically, I can get behind this. The flavors seem like they would go well together — especially if you like a good fried Japanese bagel sushi roll like I do. But it also seems like it would just be so squishy, you know?

I won’t knock it until we try it, which will be as soon as it drops on November 21st. Blue Ribbon Corn Dogs usually knocks it out of the park with these limited-time items, so it will be interesting to see just how the Salmon Dog stacks up. It will only be available at the Orlando Blue Ribbon location for now (sorry, Californians)!
