It’s finally here! Universal Orlando Resort has just announced a NEW attraction on its way to Universal Studios, and we could not be more excited.
Back in August 2025, Rip Ride Rockit in Universal Studios officially closed, and demolition began almost immediately. As it currently stands, the ride is totally gone, but it’s clear that work is being done to prepare the land for a new attraction. Rumors have been flying for months over what it would be, but now we know for sure — a new Fast and Furious roller coaster will be coming to the park!
It’s been speculated for months that a new Fast and Furious coaster would be coming to Universal Orlando, as the Fast and Furious: Hollywood Drift coaster has been under construction in Universal Hollywood for a while now, and it would make sense that a similar coaster would come to Orlando. Now, we’ve got confirmation that that IS the case. Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift will be coming in 2027, and “rides will experience the exhilarating sensation of 360-degree drifting as they speed through jaw-dropping maneuvers — including a 170-foot vertical ‘spike’ that will send riders nearly 17 stories in the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk.”
Fast & Furious — Supercharged will also be permanently closing in 2027, which makes us wonder what else is coming to the space! The ride wasn’t overly popular and wait times were rarely above 10 to 15 minutes, but we’re thrilled to see what else could be coming.
