Universal Studios Hollywood just announced when a popular ride will be joining the lineup, and we couldn’t be more excited to drift into the new attraction.
Without any preamble or official announcement, Universal Studios Hollywood opened the long-anticipated Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift roller coaster, and fans have begun FLOCKING to the park.
The ride soft opened a few days ago, even though it’s not set to officially open sometime in late summer 2026. The attraction has sparked noise complaints from residents who live and work around the park, but now that the ride is open for guests to experience, how are people really feeling about the new coaster? You may be surprised!

Universal Studios Hollywood is about to get a major upgrade with its brand-new, first-ever fully outdoor roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. The ride was set to open on June 26th, but was then delayed until late summer.
Universal hasn’t announced an official reason for the delay, but it just debunked a widespread rumor about the postponement of Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift that gives us some hints.
Disney World isn’t the only theme park making big changes — Universal Orlando has been making some pretty big updates to its parks, too. First, Epic Universe still has that new smell because it’s only been open for a little over a year. But even that park is getting a new ride soon.
The Lost Continent and Mythos Restaurant recently closed to make way for something new, while Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit was recently demolished in Universal Studios Florida to make way for a new Fast and Furious roller coaster. But speaking of Fast and Furious, the Fast and Furious: Supercharged ride in Universal Studios Florida will be closing a lot sooner than anyone thought…as in NEXT MONTH.
Construction is progressing for a highly anticipated attraction at Universal Studios Orlando!

The new attraction is called Fast & Furious Hollywood Drift, and it will be replacing Hollywood Rip Ride Rockit, which closed last year. The new ride isn’t set to debut until next year, in 2027; however, we are already seeing aerial photos of construction taking place at the park, and we can’t help but be excited. Want to see some photos?
It’s finally here! Universal Orlando Resort has just announced a NEW attraction on its way to Universal Studios, and we could not be more excited.
Back in August 2025, Rip Ride Rockit in Universal Studios officially closed, and demolition began almost immediately. As it currently stands, the ride is totally gone, but it’s clear that work is being done to prepare the land for a new attraction. Rumors have been flying for months over what it would be, but now we know for sure — a new Fast and Furious roller coaster will be coming to the park!
Universal… what are you doing right now? The theme park is already working on updates to Epic Universe, and construction has been ongoing for months on a majorly secretive project.
