We just love when new rides open at our favorite theme parks.

Hollywood Drift

Universal Studios Hollywood just announced when a popular ride will be joining the lineup, and we couldn’t be more excited to drift into the new attraction.

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift opens on September 16th! While the ride soft-opened and has been conducting extensive testing, it will officially open to the public on September 16th. The ride was supposed to open on June 26th, but Universal later announced that it would be later.

SO COOL

The new roller coaster features four launches, three inversions, and 360-degree rotations. You’ll get into a car and drift your way through the roller coaster. It looks fast and intense, and we truly can’t wait to ride it a hundred times.

During the testing and soft opening phases, neighbors in the area were actively complaining about noise, saying that the screams were above normal theme park noise and disruptive. Universal added more walls and sound barriers to hopefully reduce noise levels. While it was speculated that the ride’s opening was delayed because of this, Universal never confirmed it.

Get ready for speed!

Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift is also coming to Universal Orlando! The ride has been under construction for a while and will replace Rip Ride Rockit. It’s set to open in 2027, and it will include a 170-foot vertical “spike” that will send riders nearly 17 stories in the air over the outskirts of Universal CityWalk.
