One of the longest closures of the year across all the Orlando theme parks is none other than Jurassic Park River Adventure, located at Islands of Adventure in Universal Orlando.

The attraction closed for the lengthy refurbishment on January 5th and currently isn’t expected to reopen until November 19th. It’s been behind walls practically ever since, but now, we’ve got a look at what’s really going on behind the scenes, all thanks to @bioreconstruct on X/Twitter!

Not too long ago, Universal Orlando Resort made an announcement that Universal Studios would be getting a new Fast and Furious roller coaster! Construction has been underway for a few months now, and the team has made huge progress so far. We recently went to the park to check it out, and we have to show you where they’re at in the process!

Epic Universe is getting closer and closer to its first anniversary! Universal’s newest theme park was a major hit in 2025 thanks to its thrilling rides, tasty food, and detailed themeing.

We were huge fans of the park, and it seems like Universal isn’t slowing down anytime soon. After noticing new permits in November 2025, construction has started at Epic Universe.
Huge news coming out of Universal Orlando today, especially if you’re still mourning the loss of Poseidon’s Fury in the Lost Continent area of the park.
The Lost Continent
On September 12th, Universal confirmed that construction is coming soon to the Lost Continent area of the park, and based on a permit we just spotted, the park will be demolishing nearly FIVE ACRES of its land — could this mean the Lost Continent is about to look VERY different?
Yesterday was a big day in Universal Orlando, because an iconic ride in Universal Studios had its final day of operation.
Rip Ride Rockit
Rip Ride Rockit opened in the park in August 2009, meaning that it was in operation for (almost) exactly 16 years to the day! This was one of the most thrilling rides in the park, so now that it’s gone, what will be replacing it? Well, there are a few ideas flying around.

Now that Universal’s Epic Universe tickets have finally been released for sale, we’re starting to learn more about what will await us inside. Universal just released sneak peeks into two of its most ambitious rides to come with Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment and Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry and if we weren’t excited before, we certainly are now. So while we still have a bit of wait to go before we can go inside the lands and rides, we still have the opportunity to track the ongoing construction progress outside.

Don’t get us wrong, Disney World has had a lot going on, too, with the opening of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure and the news of some big expansion projects in Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. But the future is a little more mapped out over at Universal Orlando. We know that Universal’s new theme park is set to open in time for summer 2025 if Universal can stick to its schedule.
