Public health officials are warning of potential exposure to measles at Disneyland Resort, the Orange County Register has reported.
Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) and other Southern California locations have also seen potential exposure, which has been linked to an international traveler. An airplane passenger who was infected with measles passed through LAX’s Tom Bradley International Terminal on January 26th and traveled throughout Southern California.
The passenger arrived on Viva Aerobus Flight 518, per the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. People who were in Terminal B between 10:45 PM on January 26th and 1 AM on January 27th may have been exposed. The traveler also visited “healthcare settings” in LA County and a Dunkin’ Donuts at 22020 Ventura Boulevard in Woodland Hills on January 30th between 3 PM and 4:45 PM.
The Orange County Health Agency also reported that the same individual visited locations at Disneyland Resort while infectious on January 28th. Potential exposure windows include Goofy’s Kitchen at the Disneyland Hotel from 10:30 AM to 1:30 PM, and Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure from 12:30 PM until closing.
Passengers who were seated near the infected person on affected flights are being notified in coordination with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, while healthcare facilities and Disneyland are contacting patients, staff, and employees who may have been exposed.
This marks the second confirmed case of measles in LA County this year. The first was reported just one day before, involving a resident who recently traveled internationally.
Orange County health officials said that CDC data shows 588 confirmed measles cases reported nationwide this year as of January 30th, 2026. Officials said people exposed may develop symptoms between seven and 21 days after exposure, and urged residents to confirm their vaccination status.
Dr. Anissa Davis, Orange County’s deputy health officer, said, “Measles doesn’t only affect people who travel internationally — everyone is at risk if they’re not protected. The best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is to get vaccinated before exposure occurs.”
Anyone who has symptoms such as fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, or rash should stay home and contact a healthcare provider before seeking care, per officials. If you were at Disneyland or LAX during times of exposure, make sure you take note of any potential symptoms you may have and contact your doctor if anything pops up.
