Ah! According to the Orange County Register, New changes are coming to Disneyland’s park hopping system, but we think you’re going to love it.
Right now, there is an 11 AM rule, but erase that time from your head because you’re going to have more freedom than before.
Later this year, Disneyland will eliminate the 11 AM rule. Before this change, guests could not park hop to the other park before 11 AM. The guest had to begin their day in the park with their reservation and then wait until 11 to switch over.
Now, you can move between Disneyland Park and Disney California Adventure without having to worry about the time. Woohoo! We’re not sure when this will start, but it is expected to be later this year. Disney also mentioned that park reservations will be staying for now.
Disney also said that Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue! will be staying open until 2027. It was originally meant to close in early 2026, but will now be open for all of 2026. This ride is closing in Disney California Adventure to make way for the Avatar expansion. It is not expected that the Avatar project will be delayed, but it should continue as planned.
The new Avatar expansion won’t be exactly like its counterpart in Disney World’s Animal Kingdom. Disney says it will “draw inspiration from Avatar: The Way of Water and upcoming Avatar films to bring Pandora to life in a brand-new way.” The attraction will also send guests on an “adventure of a lifetime in search of majestic natural wonders that can only be found on Pandora and the beauty — and danger — that comes along the way.”
