It’s not every day you get to head into EPCOT and not only get to try a drink created by a Disney legend, but also have a conversation with him for an hour while you sip on it!
We headed over to La Cava del Tequila in the Mexico Pavilion to try a new drink that was created by the one and only Bret Iwan. Bret has been the voice of Mickey Mouse since 2009, so you can bet we wanted to try out this drink more than anything. We’ve gotta say — this drink didn’t disappoint!
This new drink is called The Vaquero’s Falsetto, sketched by Bret Iwan. It’s made with Bardstown bourbon, reposado tequila, mole bitters, orange oil, Terbeau Ranch rosemary, and bourbon-soaked cherries, and was inspired by Terbeau Ranch, the ranch that Bret himself owns.
We were already impressed seeing the square ice cube inside that had the Terbeau Ranch logo on it, but the taste of this drink was also very smooth. It was easy to drink, even if you’re not a big fan of hard alcohol, which was very impressive, as this is an Old Fashioned. The main flavor profile here was bourbon with a slight kick from the tequila, but the additional flavors helped to balance it out so it wasn’t too intense, as well as gave it a slight smoky flavor.
We would totally get it again and recommend you snag it sooner rather than later, as these drinks don’t often hang around for long. There’s no specific end date right now, but don’t wait too long to stay on the safe side! Be sure to stay tuned to DFB for all the latest news and reviews from Disney World and beyond!

We do this because it’s important to us as journalists to ensure not only that we give you unbiased opinions, but also that you can trust us to do so since we’re paying our own way. On rare occasions, when we are invited by a company to attend a preview as media, and when we choose to accept that invitation, we will always make you, our readers, aware of that situation. Today, we were invited by Disney World to attend their media preview of The Vaquero’s Falsetto, sketched by Bret Iwan. Note that when we attend events as media we are 1) Not required to review that event/food on any of our channels, and 2) Not required to review that event/food favorably. You can always count on DFB to give you a 100% unbiased and honest review of any event that we attend, food that we eat, or beverage that we drink. You can see more in our Disclosure Policy.
