The absolute best news has hit Disney World, and we truly couldn’t be more excited. It involves a new restaurant and hand pies, so we couldn’t ask for more.
Gideon’s Bakehouse has opened a new restaurant in Disney Springs called Six Ravens, and it has opened to the public. While hours might be a bit finicky till they have their grand opening, we’re checking out the space and trying some new food, so come with us to see if you should add Six Ravens to your “must try” list in Disney World.
Before we even got to Six Ravens on its soft opening day on August 3rd, there was a line at security at Disney Springs to get in. We’re pretty used to seeing these massive crowds for new merchandise releases, but this was for the restaurant. It seems like we aren’t the only ones super excited for a new Gideon’s spin-off. On their Instagram page, they also warned that if the line gets excessively long at their restaurant, they will use a Virtual Queue system so guests do not have to wait in a physical line but receive a notification when they’re able to return.
We also got a look at the menu! While the menu has been available online for a bit (and we have been obsessed with every part), we got ot grab a physical menu. Gideon’s Bakehouse has monthly menu cards with different designs on the front, so we were happy to get a cool physical menu as a keepsake.
Here’s a look at the inside, too.
Now onto the space! It’s just perfect, isn’t it?
It’s a grab-and-go restaurant, so you’ll order inside and then grab your coffees and head outside to find seating somewhere else. It was recommended on their Instagram that the coffyns are best enjoyed hot, so they also placed a limit of two coffyns per paying customer.
You’ll also be able to mix and match sauces, but they recommend sticking with the original offered sauces in the beginning since the staff has worked so hard to pair them together.
It’s all very dark inside, so it might take your eyes a minute to adjust to the light. We’re already excited to go again to see if we can spot some hidden details.
The main item you can get here is the coffyns, which are handheld yeast rolls stuffed with different fillings. Coffyn was the original term for hand pies, which are what these are based on. At Six Ravens, each coffyn comes with a dipping sauce.
Ready to try them all?
We started with the Moreish Monk for $10.99, which is medieval grilled cheese using Vermont white cheddar and Havarti cheese, and house tomato jam wrapped in a parmesan-smothered coffyn and paired with wolf peach dipping sauce.
This is basically a grilled cheese in a hand pie form, and we’re here for it! It’s super cheesy with notes of the creamy Havarti coming through and a bit of the sharpness from the cheddar. The sauce adds the classic tomato soup flavor with a little sweetness to undercut the savory of the coffyn.
It has classic childhood flavors, and the tomato jam on the inside heightens the tomato soup flavor.
Then we had the Peasant’s Patty for $10.99, which is a classic cheeseburger topped with American cheese, dill pickle bits, and encased in a sesame seed-sprinkled coffyn. It comes with pink salamandor dipping sauce.
This one was like a classic cheeseburger with pickles! The moist hamburger bun was a perfect riff on a sesame seed bun, and the sauce was like a secret sauce but with some heat. We could taste the traditional cheeseburger flavors with that cheese coming through, too.
Be warned: it’s spicy! The sauce is called Pink Salamander because salamanders in mythology are reported to have fire powers.
After that, we went to the Wizard’s Wonder, which is mac and cheese with pickled poblando, pulled pork, BBQ-seasoned panko crumbs shrouded in a BBQ crumb-covered coffyn. The sauce for this one is a Prince Donut’s Smoke & Cherry BBQ Sauce, and the whole thing costs $10.99.
Mm! You can really taste the layers of smoke in the meat, and the mac and cheese is super creamy and not dry at all. The sauce is a bit on the sweet side, so a little goes a long way, but it matched the pork perfectly.
The whole coffyn was super soft and covered in barbecue spices, and it was a hit.
We also had the Foragers Find for $10.99. This is spice-roasted sweet potatoes, black bean corn salsa, crushed pepitas, and queso cotija in a pumpkin seed-topped coffyn and paired with a tropical mango aioli dip.
This is one of the vegetarian offerings and is so good. The sweet potatoes add a great texture and sweetness without being over the top. The black bean and corn salta balances the sweetness, and the sauce is a sweet, spicy mango that was so creamy and well balanced.
Onto the Imperial Idol for $10.99! This is mildly spicy chicken with potato and carrot coconut curry in a fried garlic-covered coffyn. It comes with Red Panda’s dipping sauce.
This coffyn is one of the spicier options. The chicken flavor doesn’t really come through, but the potato and the carrot carry most of the flavors. The coconut curry was also a delicious addition, and the outside of the treat is covered in fried garlic, which brings even more flavor. The dipping sauce helps balance the heat, but it is super creamy and goes super well with the hand pie. We don’t think the chicken was necessary, but we would definitely order this again.
Our last coffyn of the day was the Villain of Valentia for $10.99. It is house-made basil pesto chicken with balsamic tomatoes and all the kingdom’s garlic trapped in a herb panko splashed coffyn with Bruno’s garlic knot juice.
This was surprisingly delicious and one of our favorites of the day. The basil pesto chicken with balsamic tomatoes brings that fun acidic aftertaste, and paired with the garlic, you’re in for a treat. The dipping sauce is also garlic-forward, and all of this garlic could definitely ward off a vampire. The panko adds a really nice crunch on the outside with herbs, and the pesto is so flavorful that you won’t ever be looking for it.
The side available is Tale Teller Tatties for $8.66, which is a mini bucket of baked smashed potatoes perfectly seasoned with the King’s spices and served with their realm-famous honey mustard.
This is the founders of Six Ravens’ favorite item, and we totally get why. They were spiced perfectly, and even though they are completely smashed, you get a ton of potato flavor and the fluffiness on the inside. The outside is crispy with all kinds of delicious warming spices. It’s similar to barbecued potato chips, and the honey mustard paired with it is a signature sauce for a reason. It’s creamy and lightly sweetened, and we think every order should come with these — we were dipping our cookies in them; it was that good!
To drink, we had the Friars Fault, for $6.96, which is a Six Ravens house tap root beer that is sassafras-forward with a vanilla bean finish. It’s made by a local brewery specifically for Six Ravens, and it is unbelievably good. It reminded us of getting A&W from a fresh tap where they mix it ht eornings, and since you can only get this at Disney Springs, it’s such a special treat to have. It was totally refreshing and a highlight of our meal. We went back and grabbed more after!

Oh my… I just have to get there and try it all out! I love the theme and decor. Cannot wait!
Kudos ….. A Very Thorough Review. !
Sorry I’m not standing in line for a hot pocket. But that’s just me.
Sad that they couldn’t offer a plant based option for folks that want it. Breedlove will have to bring his Uncrustable with him.
I agree with Kent. Won’t involve myself with this over-priced Hot Pocket.
