A NEW nighttime spectacular parade is coming to the Magic Kingdom this summer!

Nighttime parades have been a staple of Disney’s theme parks since the Main Street Electrical Parade debuted at Disneyland in 1972. A clone of that original debuted at Walt Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 1977, and played at the park until 1991. That same year, the Magic Kingdom original SpectroMagic parade debuted at the park, and became a fan-favorite, playing at the park until 1999, and then again from 2001 to 2010. In the years since, the original Electrical Parade appeared intermittently.
A classic Hollywood Studios show is returning to the park with a NEW twist!
The original Voyage of the Little Mermaid
The Little Mermaid show has been a staple of Hollywood Studios since 1992. Voyage of The Little Mermaid debuted on January 7th of that year, and featured an abridged version of the film’s story, utilizing a mix of live actors, puppets, special effects, and laser projections on the auditorium walls and ceilings to mimic being underwater. This original version of the show ran until 2020, closing along with the rest of Disney World at the onset of the COVID pandemic and never reopening. In December of 2023, Disney confirmed that a new version of the show entitled The Little Mermaid – A Musical Adventure would replace the original.
Things are changing at Hollywood Studios, and there are some new procedures to keep in mind during your next visit.
Disney’s Hollywood Studios
The park formerly known as Disney/MGM Studios is about to enter a period of massive transformation, as the former Muppets Courtyard — including Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo — is set to close forever in mid-June to make way for a Monsters, Inc. land. However, the Muppets won’t be gone for long, as the characters are moving across the park to take over the Rock ’n’ Roller Coaster from Aerosmith. All of these changes are creating a new set of unofficial rules to follow at the park.

Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind
Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind is dominating Disney World. The Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU)-based E-Ticket roller coaster attraction first opened at EPCOT in 2022 and was immediately one of the most popular attractions in Disney World. However, the ride’s renown went into another stratosphere in early 2025 when the line shifted from a virtual queue to a standby line, meaning that it was available to any guest willing to wait. And wait, they did, as the ride has often had the highest average wait of any attraction at the resort’s four theme parks, with times often over an hour.
