2022 is the Year of the Tiger, and Disney California Adventure in Disneyland Resort marked its arrival with the park’s annual Lunar New Year celebration! From January 21 through February 13, 2022, Disney California Adventure rang in the Year of the Tiger with additional cuisine and entertainment offerings (including special Disney Character sightings) and more!

Disney shares that this celebration in tribute to Chinese, Vietnamese and Korean cultures is “filled with happy wishes for health, luck and prosperity throughout the Year of the Tiger!”
Though the celebration has concluded for 2022, we are keeping the information on this page so you can get an idea of what to expect for 2023: the Year of the Rabbit!

Lunar New Year Marketplaces
Lunar New Year Marketplaces (Food Booths) present Asian cuisine through limited-time menus, just for the event!
The Sip and Savor Pass is available for purchase, which is a souvenir credential that features six pull-off tabs for $43.00. (Disneyland Resort Magic Key holders are eligible for a discount on the Sip and Savor Pass, bringing the cost to $40.00).
Each tab may then be traded for one eligible food item or non-alcoholic beverage at the Lunar New Year Marketplaces.
Additionally, select Counter Service locations (designated on our menu list below) serve tasting portions of select full entrees which are also available with the Sip and Savor Pass. You can purchase a Sip and Savor Pass at the following locations:

Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession
Mulan’s Lunar New Year Procession has returned this year, on the path from Pixar Pier to Paradise Gardens Obelisk (and back).
The procession features beautiful music and costumes, as well as traditional dances by Asian performing troupes.
For the Year of the Tiger, Tigger joins the Processional!
Mulan is accompanied by Mushu in a float, and guests will also catch sight of a Chinese dragon.

The Processional will be presented several times daily throughout the celebration. Check your Disneyland App and the park entertainment schedule for times.

More Disney Character Sightings
Be sure to stop by the Paradise Gardens Gazebo to see more Disney pals in their Lunar New Year attire!
Characters you see may include:
- Tigger
- Mulan and Mushu
- Mickey and Minnie
- The Three Little Pigs
A special photo pavilion will also be available for guests to capture their memories in the area.
And Raya from Raya and the Last Dragon is making her first Lunar New Year appearance!
See her at Redwood Creek Challenge Trail.
There are 2 lines you may enter when visiting Raya — a photo line and a pass-through line. It’s important to note that Cast Members are not taking photos, you either have to have someone in your party take them or take a selfie. (There is no PhotoPass here.)
On Opening Day of the Lunar New Year celebration, Raya greeted guests from 2-8PM. However, her schedule may change daily, so be sure to check with a Cast Member for information about Raya’s next appearance.

Lunar New Year Entertainment
The Paradise Garden Bandstand is where guests can enjoy daily performances featuring the Melody of China. The trio performs a “fusion of Chinese folk, classical and contemporary instrumentals” on a “traditional Chinese yangqin (dulcimer), pipa (lute) and erhu (fiddle).”

An early favorite is this lovely pair of Lunar New Year Minnie Ears.
