Something SPOOKTACULAR happens in Disneyland Resort each fall when HALLOWEEN TIME brings haunting delights to Disneyland park and Disney California Adventure! Halloween Time is taking place from September 3 – October 31, 2021, and the spooky season delivers special events, spooky decorations, “scary” snacking, and MORE to Disneyland Resort!
Let’s check out all the frightfully festive FUN for Halloween Time!
Main Street Pumpkin Festival
As you stroll along Main Street, U.S.A., you can take in all the hand-carved pumpkins of the Main Street Pumpkin Festival!
The giant Mickey pumpkin welcomes you to the whimsical scene.
Disney Characters in Costume
Look for Disney pals in their very own Halloween costumes in the park!
And be on the lookout for the Pumpkin King…
Every night throughout the season, you can enjoy Halloween Screams, a supernatural projection and special effects show on Sleeping Beauty Castle.
Select nights (weekends, primarily) see the addition of FIREWORKS to the family-friendly show!
Haunted Mansion Holiday
The return of Haunted Mansion Holiday presents some not-so-subtle nods to The Nightmare Before Christmas thanks to some extra decorations placed by the Pumpkin King himself, Jack Skellington!
Step inside… IF YOU DARE!
This year delivers the 20th appearance of the iconic gingerbread house that is placed in the Haunted Mansion’s ballroom. The theme has been different every year, and has included themes like the “Stitched-Up-Patchwork House,” the “Oogie Boogie Bug-infested House,” and the “Giant Gingerbread Spider House.” For 2021, the Haunted Mansion Holiday Gingerbread House is a Frankenstein-style mash-up of all the other gingerbread house themes!
Remember, Haunted Mansion Holiday stays throughout the Holiday Season, too, so you can catch this tradition through January 9th!

You never know, you just may be treated to some Halloween tunes performed by none other than the Dapper Dans!
The highly anticipated return of the Dapper Dans to Main Street, U.S.A. came along on the same day that Halloween Time started: September 3rd!
Dia De Los Muertos
Visit Frontierland to celebrate Día de los Muertos!
As Disney shares, “the holiday is a time to remember loved ones that have passed, while we embrace our eternal connections.” Take in art, cuisine, and special cultural displays at El Zócalo Park for the Day of the Dead.
Visit Rancho del Zócalo Restaurante to dine on Mexican cuisine, while you’re in Frontierland.
Disney California Adventure
Oogie Boogie Bash
Oogie Boogie Bash is an extra-ticket event held on select nights throughout the season at Disney California Adventure. The one and only Oogie Boogie — along with some of his fellow Disney Villains — is your host!
Guests are invited to wear costumes and experience Bash-exclusive entertainment along with access to the park’s attractions and MUCH more.
And don’t forget the magic words — “Trick or Treat!” — for all the CANDY along the Treat Trails!!
Decorations and Overlays
Be on the lookout — if you dare! — for spooky decor around the park.
Similar to Disneyland, Mickey Mouse and friends will be about in Halloween costumes and some seasonal decor will be in place as well — like a stunning 10-foot-tall statue of the Headless Horseman.
Attractions and lands and even a few restaurants will feature spooky makeovers, too. For instance, Carthay Circle is decked out for the All Hallows’ Eve Celebration, complete with bats flying through the upper windows to set the haunting scene.
And in Cars Land, Radiator Springs turns into Radiator Screams!
THIS is where the cars get in on the “Haul-O-Ween” fun!
Look for the transformations of Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree into Mater’s Graveyard JamBOOree, and Luigi’s Rolickin’ Roadsters into Luigi’s Honkin’ Haul-O-Ween!
The fun frights even extend to the new Avengers Campus, where the Guardians of the Galaxy – Monsters After Dark seasonal overlay is coming back to Mission: BREAKOUT!
The Plaza de la Familia has also returned to Disney California Adventure through November 2nd for a celebration inspired by Dia de los Muertos.
Live music and entertainment, interactive activities, special decorations and more all come together “to celebrate the everlasting bonds of family and the spirit of the Mexican tradition of Día de los Muertos, the Day of the Dead.”
Downtown Disney District
Downtown Disney is in on the hauntingly fun time with Halloween decorations, TONS of seasonal treats, and an all-new pumpkin hunt — Pluto’s Pumpkin Pursuit.
