In April 2022, Disney announced that Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel in Disneyland Resort would be undergoing a major transformation. Disneyland Resort guests can look forward to what will become Pixar Place Hotel this winter!

The hotel is going to be reimagined with a Pixar theme, and the hotel will “weave the artistry of Pixar into its comfortable, contemporary setting.” 

Artwork and decor will allow guests to gain “a new perspective on some of their favorite Pixar worlds and characters.” These curated pieces will play a huge role in revealing the creative journey of the artists who bring the beloved Pixar stories to life.

One such piece with be the famous Pixar Lamp balancing on top of its ball. Per the concept art that Disney has shared, it appears that this lobby centerpiece will sit underneath hanging sculptures that represent characters from Finding Nemo and more.

According to the Chairman of the Disney Parks, Experiences, and Products division, Josh D’Amaro, Pixar Place Hotel will be a spot where you’ll feel like you’ve stepped into a Pixar art gallery and find new interpretations of your favorite Pixar pals!

One example he mentioned is the Finding Nemo Splash Pad (concept art pictured above) with much more to come!

Pixar Place Hotel Lobby

While the hotel hasn’t fully completed its transformation yet, the lobby has officially opened!! First, here’s a look at some of the exterior changes as you walk up to the entrance of the hotel.

Welcome to the Pixar Place Hotel!

The lobby has been completely transformed with Pixar theming, characters, and more.

It’s still quite spacious, and there are so many little Pixar touches everywhere you look.

And the check-in area has had a makeover, with sleek new desks, modern lighting, and warm wood paneling.

You’ll find it over to your left when you enter the lobby.

Pixar Place Hotel Dining

Disney announced that the team from a Southern California favorite, Great Maple, will open a flagship restaurant on the first floor and operate the other food and drink locations at the hotel. Prepare for some maple donuts and fried chicken!

Disney shares that “this modern American eatery specializes in upscale comfort food with a twist, serving fresh takes on American classics for breakfast, lunch and dinner.”

Signature dishes will include Buttermilk Fried Chicken & Maple Bacon Doughnuts, the Cajun Shrimp & Cheddar Biscuit Benedict, and the Soda Pop-Braised Baby Back Ribs. Plus, you’ll be able to indulge in the full bar which will serve wine, beer, and cocktails.

In addition to the restaurant itself, there will be a grab-and-go coffee shop, and food and beverage options will also be available at the pool bar and concierge lounge.

Information for Guests Staying at Paradise Pier Hotel

Regarding guests staying at Paradise Pier as the transformation to the Pixar Pier Hotel takes place, Disney has shared that “while we work our magic, the comfort and enjoyment of our guests is our top priority. Hotel amenities—including the direct entrance for hotel Guests into Disney California Adventure Park—will continue to remain open.”

Work that will most likely make the most noise will be happening only in daylight hours. Additionally, guests will also have access to dining and recreation at the other Disneyland Resort hotels — Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa and the Disneyland Hotel.

Check-in at Paradise Pier Hotel has moved to the Pacific Ballroom, with guests being required to enter from the hotel’s rear entrance.

Mickey in Paradise merchandise has been related to the Pacific Ballroom. It is open from 7AM to 10PM daily with limited offerings for guests to purchase.
