Whether you’re a Star Wars fan, Marvel fan, or fan of the classics — chances are there’s something for you to look forward to on the streaming service next year. In fact, Disney just shared the first look at some of the new shows and seasons coming in 2023 and we’re even MORE excited than we already were!
Based on the blockbuster content and large subscriber numbers we’ve seen from Disney+ in its short existence, you’d think the service would be financially successful overall.

But, unfortunately, for The Walt Disney Company and its investors, that’s not quite the case. One of Disney’s biggest issues recently has been the mounting losses for the streaming service, even being a prime reason former CEO Bob Chapek was replaced by Bob Iger. So, what gives? Sure, we’ve done all our holiday shopping (okay, MOST of our holiday shopping), and we’ve seen all the pretty decorations at Disney World, and we’ve watched a ton of holiday movies on Disney+, but January is literally RIGHT around the corner, so we’ll need more stuff to watch. Disney+ was one of the last streaming services without a tier that included ads, but now it’s here. There are Basic and Premium tiers, and the option to bundle with Hulu and ESPN+ as well. But, there is one MAJOR problem with these new Disney+ options.

We’ve seen a ton of successful originals, like The Mandalorian, Loki, Obi-Wan Kenobi, and even movie launches like Turning Red and Hocus Pocus. The streaming service was introduced with pretty reasonable pricing, but since then, has seen some price increases. We also found out that ads would soon be coming to Disney+, and the day is finally here — Disney+ has launching their service with ads.
