As air travel becomes more expensive — and at least in perception — less safe, some younger travelers are re-embracing bus ridership as an alternative.
As a slew of price increases, baggage policy changes, and high-profile accidents have caused bad press for the aviation industry over the last couple of years, numbers have steadily risen for commercial bus transportation. According to a spokesperson for FlixBus (the parent company of Greyhound), “ridership across the Greyhound and FlixBus network grew by a double-digit percentage year-over-year” in 2024. This is “compared to 2023, continuing an upward trend.”

Southwest Airlines has had some major changes lately, like changing its “bags fly free” policy and updating its open seating initiative. They’ve even helped make your Disney trip a little bit easier when check-out time comes. Now Southwest is back with more ways to save on travel this summer!
Hi, it’s me! And I’m going to Disneyland!
That should come as no surprise because if you’ve read a lot of my posts, you’ll know I love Disneyland. Now, I live in the Midwest, which means I have to fly to Disneyland, and let’s just say that’s never been an easy feat. Although there are plenty of airports to choose from in the area, it’s certainly not as simple (or as cheap) as booking a flight to Orlando International Airport like you do when you go to Disney World. However, thanks to finding a cheap flight via Google Flights, I’ve discovered a NEW airport to fly into that’s close to Disneyland: Long Beach Airport.

The company has ended its “bags fly free” policy, as well as ended its open seating option for flights, leaving some fans with mixed feelings about the airline. Southwest is now offering a deal that might have travelers forget all about the big changes happening, but it’s ending soon!
There have been several reports of airplane incidents over the past few months, including engine fires and ground stops due to space launch debris. Now, another situation occurred at Disney World’s closest airport, Orlando International Airport (MCO).
According to CNN, a Southwest Airlines plane mistakenly tried to take off on the taxiway instead of the runway.
It can be challenging to choose which airline to fly to Disney World.
If you are like us, you may want to be prepared for every situation and pack all your Disney World essentials, such as your Minnie ears, rain gear, multiple pairs of comfortable shoes, first aid supplies, and more. It can feel like baggage rules and fees are getting stricter and stricter on airlines, and unfortunately, if you are flying on Southwest Airlines in the near future, it is about to get even harder to pack for your Disney World vacation.
Southwest Airlines has majorly shaken things up with the announcement that they would do away with their open seating policy by later this year, but they recently announced that on top of that, they would be doing away with their “two free checked bags” allowance for all customers.
In response to this most recent announcement, many customers have been publicly stating that they’ll be looking to fly with other airlines, and do you know who’s ready to capitalize on that? None other than Spirit Airlines, even though they’re just barely back from bankruptcy.
Southwest Airlines has been making A LOT of changes recently! If you haven’t had a chance to read up on the changes yet, or you want all of their big announcements rounded up, keep on reading.
We are covering ALL the changes announced by Southwest Airlines so you are prepared and know what to expect in the coming months.
