Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom
The brand-new Magic Kingdom attraction is set to open in Disney World on June 28th, 2024 but Disney announced that select Disney World guests would get the chance to experience the attraction early via preview events. There has been a barrage of preview announcements, so if you’ve fallen behind, rest assured — we’re here to get you caught up!
We’ve got a real treat coming soon to the Magic Kingdom. A new ride! That’s right — there’s a brand-new, never-before-seen ride coming to Disney World, and we can’t wait. It’s called Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, and it will open in both Disneyland park and Disney World’s Magic Kingdom in 2024! In fact, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Disney World in the summer of 2024, and “later in 2024” in Disneyland. Below, you can see the current construction progress. If that big hill looks familiar, that’s because this ride was formerly known as Splash Mountain!
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
Back in 2020, Disney announced that Splash Mountain would close and get a complete makeover. The new attraction is inspired by The Princess and the Frog. But this won’t be the same old Princess and the Frog story we’ve seen before. Nope — Disney is creating a NEW story for the ride! But wait. We may have found a NEW clue that might give us some hints about the attraction.
Remember when Princess Tiana sang, “People gonna come here from everywhere. And I’m almost there.” Well, she probably wasn’t talking about a Magic Kingdom attraction, but the words still apply, right? In case you’re unfamiliar, there’s a NEW Tiana’s Bayou Adventure attraction coming to Disney World AND Disneyland Resort this year!

In fact, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open in Disney World in the summer of 2024, and “later in 2024” in Disneyland. We’ve been keeping our eyes out for updates, so come with us to see the BIG news we discovered in Magic Kingdom.

Disney just announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will open EARLY in Magic Kingdom, in the summer of 2024! That means we’ll get to go down the bayou with Tiana in just a few months. This is NOT A DRILL! Disney just announced a NEW opening timeline for Tiana’s Bayou Adventure in Magic Kingdom!

The new ride, themed to Disney’s The Princess and the Frog movie, is replacing Splash Mountain in both Frontierland in Magic Kingdom and Critter Country in Disneyland. Splash Mountain closed in January 2023, and Disney previously announced that Tiana’s Bayou Adventure would open in “late 2024.” Then, they started removing the “late” language, leading us to believe that the ride could open sooner rather than later.
