We love us some cupcakes here at the Disney Food Blog (check out our Disney Cupcake Challenge!), and no year in review could possibly be complete without an ode to some of our favorites!
Oh, yes. The year in cupcakes kicked off in high gear with the grandest cupcake of them all: the Rose Gold Cupcake! We found this beauty way back in January at Sunshine Seasons in Epcot’s Future World, and then rose gold treats suddenly began appearing everywhere!
We didn’t hate the rose gold trend. We were in for the ears, the spirit jerseys, and — especially — the cupcakes! This one from Main Street Bakery was a big hit due to all. that. frosting!
in Walt Disney World’s Disney Springs and Disneyland Resort’s Downtown Disney knows a thing or two about celebrating holidays with its cupcakes, cookies, drinks, and more.
Earlier this year, Sprinkles announced its new line of holiday packaging, which is a lovely mix of snowflake designs and metallic gold!
Tomorrow is National Cookie Day, and Wine Bar George at Disney Springs has a special way for you to celebrate!
That’s right: for one day only, you can get your hands on this almost-too-beautiful-to-eat cookie.
starts shuttling guests across Walt Disney World next fall! And now we’ve got a peek at a complimentary pin being given to guests at Caribbean Beach Resort.
Caribbean Beach Resort is the location of one of the Skyliner’s stations (the others are located at Epcot, Hollywood Studios, and Art of Animation/Pop Century Resorts), and while the resort’s own construction is mostly complete, work continues on the Skyliner here.
While there’s never any shortage of new eats and treats popping up throughout Walt Disney World, we always love to revisit our favorite places to experience old classics and new menu additions.
On our latest visit to Raglan Road Irish Pub at Disney Springs, we tried one starter, two new craft cocktails (which you definitely need to know about!), two sandwiches, and two entrees. Let’s dive in!
The Flurry of Fun at Walt Disney World’s Disney’s Hollywood Studios might as well be called Flurry of Deliciousness because with the holiday festivities also came a ton of exciting holiday treats! Believe it or not, there are so many fantastic eats and drinks that we created the DFB’s exclusive Flurry of Fun Food Checklist.
Yeah, we take our snacking pretty seriously. 😉
But now we need to break it down. Because if you’re trying to eat your way through the Disney Parks this year, you’ll have to roll yourself home. (Trust us, we know.) And that’s why you’ve got us!
This is one Flurry of Fun treat that you don’t want to miss if you’re an egg nog fan — and believe us when we say that it was a bit of a surprise! Panna Cotta that’s not done well tends to give us milk jello vibes, and that’s not a good thing. But the Egg Nog Panna Cotta from Catalina Eddie’s was a good example of panna cotta done right.
The panna cotta itself is creamy and really carries that egg nog flavor. The tart raspberries are a phenomenal counterpart, and we also loved the bits of cranberry on top. It’s a dessert that’s both comfortable and classy. Get this!
Have a hankering for some festive holiday spirits? Look no further than Disney Springs’ The Polite Pig, where they’ve got spirit in the form of Maple Bourbon Eggnog!
We caught wind of this delicious-sounding combo via The Polite Pig’s Instagram, and now we’ve got a craving for maple. And bourbon. And eggnog. Happy holidays, indeed, with this flavorful combination!
Between decorating for the holidays, construction of the all-new Disney Skyliner, and preparations for the opening of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge, we’re always finding something new at Disney’s Hollywood Studios!
Want to hear all about what we spotted this week? Let’s go!

In the pantheon of inspired restaurants at Walt Disney World, Jiko — The Cooking Place has been at the top and at the bottom for me over the past few years. I’ve had excellent meals there, and I’ve had ho-hum meals there. So let’s see how this one turns out!
This Signature table service spot is located on the lower level of Animal Kingdom Lodge, across from Boma, the resort’s popular African- and Indian-inspired buffet. (Incidentally, if you’re looking for AKL’s quick service restaurant, The Mara, you’ll also access that through the lower level, too.)
Jiko has been a guest favorite for years. The menu is a celebration of the many and varied food traditions of the African continent, employing high-end ingredients and traditional African components to create a unique (in Disney World anyway) dining experience for guests.
And while Jiko’s menu features a selection of meat dishes (you’ll see several examples below), vegan and vegetarian diners may be offered a variety of choices on a separate menu, so be sure to ask.
