Disney Dream Recipe: Avocado-Citrus Salad

As I continue with my coverage of the January Christening Cruise Disney Dream Dine Around, I’m excited to add another tasty recipe from Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship!

Avacado-Citrus Salad at Royal Palace on the Disney Dream

Royal Dining

At the Royal Palace Restaurant aboard the Disney Dream, you’ve gotta try this Avocado-Citrus Salad. The healthy ingredients are a great way to counteract all of those desserts you’re getting at Cabanas ;-)

Where to Find It

The Royal Palace Restaurant is one of the three restaurants that cruisers can enjoy in their rotational dining. Check out this photo review of the Royal Palace Restaurant, to see even more yumminess from the menu.

Speaking of — check out the Royal Palace Menu as well! Never hurts to plan out your meal… ;-)

Disney Dream Review: Evolution Dance Club

Usually I’m not big into clubbing, but things are a bit different over on the Disney Dream…

Atmosphere
I absolutely loved Evolution on Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship. While this probably had a lot to do with the company I was keeping — some of my favorite people were at the club with me — it also had a lot to do with the alternately relaxed and invigorating [Read more…]

Disney Dream's Enchanted Garden

Disney Dream Dining: Cruise Line Room Service

It’s Disney Dream room service time!! (Oddly, no Mickey Bars on the menu… or Dole Whip…). The wonderful Ms. Sarah Holodick did some serious taste-testing on her Dream cruise — here are her reviews… (By the way — here’s the full Disney Dream Room Service Menu!)

I ordered an assortment of items from Room Service to try, and I was told it would arrive in about 35 minutes. It ended up arriving in about 15-20, which was great.

Disney Dream Dining: Animator’s Palate Review

Let me say first — Animator’s Palate was one of my favorite Disney restaurants ever. Hands down.

This place was pure F-U-N! From the decor and themeing to the interaction with Crush the turtle from Finding Nemo, I had a blast — laughing throughout the evening and truly enjoying the meal. I can’t wait to tell you about it…

Atmosphere
Those of you who have cruised on the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic cruise ships will remember that Animator’s Palate slowly transforms throughout the evening from black and white to color. However, on the Dream and the Fantasy, there’s a slightly different model in [Read more…]

Disney Dream Dining: A Taste of Remy

I was one of the lucky few on the Disney Dream Christening Cruise to have the opportunity to attend a tasting at Remy, the brand new adults-only restaurant on the ship — and boy was I excited!!! This restaurant is even more gorgeous than it was in the concept art!

To add a bit of Disney magic, the restaurant was inspired by the animated film Ratatouille (you’ll find numerous nods to the characters and food in the film throughout the restaurant and its menu), and the menu has been developed by superstar chefs from both sides of the pond. Chef Scott Hunnel from Walt Disney World’s Victoria & Albert’s collaborated with Chef Arnaud Lallement from L’Assiette Champenoise, a Michelin two-star restaurant located just outside Reims, France, to create a five-star menu, which Chef Patrick Albert, the on-site Executive Chef at Remy, will deliver to guests every evening.

Disney Dream Dining: Palo Review

As you know, I had the wonderful opportunity to sail on the Disney Dream cruise ship’s Christening Cruise from January 19-21! What an incredible two days! I ate my way around the ship and had some amazing food, but I truly couldn’t wait to share this very special experience with you — dinner at Palo.

Atmosphere

One of two adults-only restaurants on the Disney Cruise Line’s brand new ship, the Dream, Palo can also be found on the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic cruise ships, but in a slightly different form. It will also be found on the Disney Fantasy, sailing in 2012; this version will [Read more…]

Disney Dream Dining: Attention to Detail at Cabanas

You’d think I’d be used to Disney’s attention to detail by now, but every once in a while I’ll see piece of imagineering awesomeness and think to myself, “Well, heck. Will you look at that?!”

This morning, I was having breakfast at Cabanas, the Disney Dream cruise ship’s all-day dining area. While scurrying around to get my oatmeal and juice, a flash of color caught my eye. Mind you, I’d been to Cabanas many times at this point, but I’d never noticed this special addition…

Disney Dream Dining: Check-In From the Ship

Hi guys! We’re pulling out of port at Castaway Cay, heading back to Florida and back to reality ;-)

Pulling Away from Castaway Cay

And I wanted to share a few of my delicious experiences with you while I have internet connection… I hope!

A Little Preview of Remy
First off for this quick check-in — I just finished a tasting at Remy, the brand new adults-only restaurant on the Dream and the Fantasy ships.

Here’s a little sneak preview of the amazing food you’ll find from the trio of Chefs heading the restaurant — Chef Scott Hunnel, the highly acclaimed executive chef from the AAA Five-Diamond Victoria and Albert’s Restaurant in Disney’s Grand Floridian; Chef Arnaud Lallement from L’Assiette Champenoise, a Michelin two-star restaurant located just outside Reims, France; and Chef Patrick Albert, the on-site Executive Chef at Remy. Notice the adorable Remy silhouette on the plate?
