Disney Dream Recipe: Enchanted Garden Strawberry Cheesecake

Strawberry Cheesecake at Enchanted Garden

When I sailed on the January Christening Cruise and completed the Disney Dream Dine Around, the desserts were scrumptious! If you love to try Disney treats at home, here’s a yummy recipe to try!

Where to Find It

This strawberry cheesecake is served in the Enchanted Garden aboard the Disney Dream. The Enchanted Garden is one of the three restaurants that cruisers can enjoy in their rotational dining. Start planning your meal by checking out the menu.

Disney Food Post Round-Up: February 27, 2011

Pollo Campero and Fresh APeel

It’s been a great week for foodies!  The addition of new counter-service restaurants to the Disney Dining Plan was welcome news. And we’re already green with envy about the culinary events at Raglan Road for St. Paddy’s Day Week!

Also looking forward to the opening of Tangaroa Terrace and Trader Sam’s at the Disneyland Hotel!

But for now… on to the round-up!

Disney Dream Recipe: Shrimp and Caramelized Onion Cheesecake From Animator’s Palate

As you know, I’ve been covering my experiences from the January Christening Cruise Disney Dream Dine Around for the past couple of weeks (and there’s more to come!), and I’m excited to add to the mix recipes from the Disney Cruise Line’s newest ship!

Rock Shrimp Cheesecake

Is this a dessert?

Nope! We reviewed this item in our Animator’s Palate review, and we thought it was pretty much one of the most interesting items on the ship’s menus! But at first glance, you can’t really tell if it’s [Read more…]

Disney Food Post Round-Up: January 30, 2011

Hello, hello, Disney food lovers! It’s the end of January, and that means two things: 1. You’ll be getting your January Disney Food Blog Newsletter tomorrow, and 2. We’re now only eight months away from the 2011 Epcot Food and Wine Festival! OK…I know I’m a little too excited about that one, but we just booked our hotel, so I’m enthusing.

All righty — here’s the latest Disney Food News!

And now… on to the round-up!

Kevin Kidney combines the release of his new Chicken of the Sea Pirate Ship replica (which I now need) with an incredible post describing the history and design of the actual Chicken of the Sea in Disneyland. A great read.

Disney Dream Dining: Cruise Line Room Service

It’s Disney Dream room service time!! (Oddly, no Mickey Bars on the menu… or Dole Whip…). The wonderful Ms. Sarah Holodick did some serious taste-testing on her Dream cruise — here are her reviews… (By the way — here’s the full Disney Dream Room Service Menu!)

I ordered an assortment of items from Room Service to try, and I was told it would arrive in about 35 minutes. It ended up arriving in about 15-20, which was great.

Disney Dream Dining: Serenity Bay Eats

Over on Disney’s Castaway Cay — a private Bahamian island reserved for use only by Disney cruise guests — there’s a little adults-only section called Serenity Bay. You have to take two trams to get there, but boy is it worth it!

Castaway Air Bar

Here you can rent floats and tubes for a lazy day in the crystal-blue waters of the bay, find a hammock for a mid-morning nap, or treat yourself to some Disney Cruise Line specialty drinks at eats at two locations.

Disney Dream Dining: Animator’s Palate Review

Let me say first — Animator’s Palate was one of my favorite Disney restaurants ever. Hands down.

This place was pure F-U-N! From the decor and themeing to the interaction with Crush the turtle from Finding Nemo, I had a blast — laughing throughout the evening and truly enjoying the meal. I can’t wait to tell you about it…

Those of you who have cruised on the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic cruise ships will remember that Animator’s Palate slowly transforms throughout the evening from black and white to color. However, on the Dream and the Fantasy, there’s a slightly different model in [Read more…]

Disney Dream Dining: Palo Review

As you know, I had the wonderful opportunity to sail on the Disney Dream cruise ship’s Christening Cruise from January 19-21! What an incredible two days! I ate my way around the ship and had some amazing food, but I truly couldn’t wait to share this very special experience with you — dinner at Palo.

One of two adults-only restaurants on the Disney Cruise Line’s brand new ship, the Dream, Palo can also be found on the Disney Wonder and Disney Magic cruise ships, but in a slightly different form. It will also be found on the Disney Fantasy, sailing in 2012; this version will [Read more…]

Disney Dream Dining: Attention to Detail at Cabanas

You’d think I’d be used to Disney’s attention to detail by now, but every once in a while I’ll see piece of imagineering awesomeness and think to myself, “Well, heck. Will you look at that?!”

This morning, I was having breakfast at Cabanas, the Disney Dream cruise ship’s all-day dining area. While scurrying around to get my oatmeal and juice, a flash of color caught my eye. Mind you, I’d been to Cabanas many times at this point, but I’d never noticed this special addition…
