Review: Beech Pool Bar and Grill at Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort in Walt Disney World

We’re just getting into Springtime in Orlando, and now is the perfect time to sit by the pool with a cocktail (or mocktail!).

So for your Friday Zen-ness today, I’ve got the perfect destination…

Aaaaahh...that's better, isn't it?

Beech Pool Bar at the Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort is one of the most relaxing spots I’ve visited within the gates of Walt Disney World.

A massive lazy river and pool complex is the perfect addition to a sunny Orlando afternoon…and the frozen hot chocolate doesn’t hurt either. But more on that later…

Beech Pool Bar

Let’s dive in!

Beech is more than your standard pool bar. There are plenty of tables and chairs for eating a full meal, but if relaxation is on the docket, consider curling up with a cocktail by one of the [Read more…]

Must-Do Milkshake: Frozen Hot Chocolate at Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort

Those of you who have been lucky enough to visit Serendipity 3 in New York City know the wonders of frozen hot chocolate!

Made with blended milk, ice cream, and hot chocolate and topped with whipped cream, chocolate syrup, and a cherry, this chilly treat is the perfect addition to an afternoon by the pool.

When I first tried the original recipe at Serendipity 3, I was bowled over with how different it was from a regular milkshake. Using the hot chocolate gives it a stronger chocolate flavor and a sweeter overall impression.

There’s just more taste there than you get in a standard chocolate milkshake, and the same rings true with the version served at Beech, the pool bar at the Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort. The flavor itself is truly an indulgence, so don’t plan to sip quickly! By the way, this version is technically sold “for two,” but I promise it’s OK if you drink it all yourself… ;-)

Comfort Food and Mom’s Day Breakfast in Bed at Hilton Bonnet Creek

The Hilton Bonnet Creek is located within the gates of Walt Disney World and continues to offer some incredible dining options and deals for those visiting the parks. In the past few weeks, they’ve featured a couple of interesting options that I hope I’m able to try out.

Blackened Grouper Sandwich

Comfort Food at Harvest Bistro
Comfort Food every day! The Harvest Bistro chefs at Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek create comfort food with flair. While traveling, it’s comforting to have a taste of home. Chefs highlight a different comfort food each day using fresh, seasonal ingredients. Meatloaf, Baked Macaroni & Cheese and Barbecue Baby Back Ribs were some of the recent offerings.

Don’t forget that kids 12 and under eat free for breakfast and dinner when an adult meal is purchased! Your reservation can be made by calling 407-597-3600.

Announcing the Breakfast in Bed Experience for Mom
The Hilton Orlando Bonnet Creek knows what moms want! Imagine that it’s Mother’s Day morning and the kids are working with the Harvest Bistro staff to make mom breakfast. While they work, mom can enjoy some quiet time. Before delivering breakfast, the kids will also make a fresh flower bouquet!

I love this idea and my son even at age 11 would absolutely delight in helping the Chef create breakfast. This is a creative, innovative and absolutely fun idea for the entire family. I only wish that my family had plans to visit Orlando for Mother’s Day. If you are lucky enough to be in central Florida in May, consider this great treat for Mom! Call 888-353-2013 and reference SRP code P5.

Have you stayed at the Hilton Bonnet Creek or are you considering a trip there? Let us know what you think!

Review: La Luce by Donna Scala

I’ve been SO excited to write this review; I can’t wait to introduce you guys to what has become one of my favorite Italian restaurants of all time. (Yep, this is the place that has that amazing butterscotch pudding.)

La Luce by (California celeb chef) Donna Scala is located in the middle of Disney World property at the Hilton Bonnet Creek Resort. The restaurant is a great juxtaposition of sleek lines and cool tile coupled with warm leather, soft pillows, and bright chalk artwork…on actual chalkboards. No kidding — the artists work [Read more…]

The Best Use of Cream Cheese Icing Ever

I have a new favorite breakfast.

Hilton Bonnet Creek's MUSE Cinnamon Rolls

These — four of them — were delivered to our room on a recent PR trip to the Waldorf Astoria Orlando. My husband and I just stared at them; we rarely eat pastry for breakfast, and there was no way we could down four of them. But there was warm cream cheese icing dripping off the rolls, so we had to at least split one.

The other side ;)

Fast forward to two hours later…there was about a third of a roll left.

As it turns out, these aren’t your average cinnamon rolls: [Read more…]
