Hello from a chilly Magic Kingdom! We found some rarely-seen characters, celebration sweets, St. Patrick’s Day Mickeys, new Funko Pops, and more!
Look who we saw this week as part of the Mickey and Minnie Surprise Celebration visits from rarely-seen-in-the-parks characters — that’s Robin Hood and Little John!
What’s New in Eats and Food in the Magic Kingdom
The Main Street Confectionery is getting in on the celebrations with and for Mickey and Minnie with festive looking Celebration Sprinkled Chocolate Covered Strawberries.
Sad news for ice cream fans — we learned from a cast member at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor the Vanellope’s Ice Cream Sundae may not be available any longer. We’re not sure if this is long-term or not. We’ll keep you updated! (Maybe they just need to order some new cups?) But, here’s some good news, you can still get a Mickey or Minnie Mini Kitchen Sink Sundae from this location.
Continuing the theme of items no longer available, according to the cast member we spoke with at Gaston’s Tavern, the Belle Souvenir Cup has officially been discontinued. Again, we’ll see if they pop up again and will let you know if they do.
To celebrate the return of the Maleficent float to the Festival of Fantasy Parade Storybook Treats has brought back the Maleficient Cone we saw last Halloween season. The cone is only around for a limited time, so be sure to stop by and pick up your picture-perfect cone soon!
What’s New in Construction Progress in the Magic Kingdom
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe is in the middle of a refurbishment
— and guess who is back — Sonny Eclipse!
Bay 2 and 3 are now open as well as the dining room with that sweet singer Sonny, while Bay 1 is now closed for refurbishment.
Despite the walls, you’ll find the bathrooms open in Cosmic Ray’s as well.
With Tomorrowland Speedway closed you are able to see more of the construction activity in progress for the new Tron attraction — opening in 2021! Tomorrowland Speedway fans, don’t worry the Speedway will re-open this summer.
They are working on taking the Christmas lights down from Cinderella Castle, which means the walkway going to the Wishing Well (and popular photo spot) is closed while the crane is in place to complete the light removal.
What’s New in the Magic Kingdom’s Shops and Stores: New Merchandise
To celebrate the 60th anniversary of the release of Sleeping Beauty Dooney and Bourke has released a new Sleeping Beauty and her fairies collection.
We found these in Uptown Jewelers on Main Street, but they are also available in Disney Springs’ Ever After Jewelry Co. & Accessories — and we spotted them on ShopDisney! You can select from the Sleeping Beauty Tote, Flora, Fauna, and Merryweather Crossbody, or the three fairies on a Satchel.
We love this hangtag on the collection! Which style will you select?
The D-Lish line continues to grow! Now you can add a reminder of the Disney Snacks you indulged in on vacation as you do the dishes at home with these Disney Snacks dish towels!
Funko POP! collectors and Alice and Wonderland fans Alert! There’s a newly-released Funko POP! of Alice in a spinning teacup! We spotted this in Big Top Treats and Bonjour Village Gifts, both in Fantasyland.
Are you ready for all things green? There’s a new Mickey Mouse plush and he’s ready to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day!
And he has the nicest message — “Lucky to Know You”. We sure are lucky to know Mickey!
Just like the Valentine’s Day plushes, there’s more to this plush than meets the eye!
