Welcome to our roundup of What’s New in Epcot!
We’ve got a lot to cover today, including new merchandise, food updates, and more! Let’s get started.
Epcot Food Update
In Epcot’s Future World, Club Cool was still out of Italy’s Beverly soda and it was also out of Brazil’s Guarana Kuat soda. We’ll keep you posted on the status of these sodas!
In Sunshine Seasons, we noticed that Tomato Tortilla Soup replaced the Vegan Lentil Soup.
Check it out! There’s new packaging on the way for the macarons in France! And there’s more to the story: execs and chefs at Les Halles are working hard toward using more all-natural ingredients, and the new, pastel macarons are a step in that direction. Stay tuned for more details on this story soon!
In the American Adventure Pavilion, we noticed that Fife & Drum Tavern is now offering a Hot Dog with Chips meal for $9.50.
If you’d still like to try the eats for “Guardians of the Galaxy — Awesome Mix Live!”, a few were still on Fife & Drum’s menu when we were there.
We are counting down the days until Epcot’s Food and Wine Festival, and we’ve been keeping you updated on new booths in World Showcase. During our most recent visit to Epcot, we spotted the Brewer’s Collection booth in Germany! Here you’ll find a selection of beers once the festival opens on August 29th!
Epcot Construction Update
As you likely know, there is a whole lot of construction happening in Epcot as part of its huge transformation, and we’re here to give you all the updates we found!
In Future World, the Guardians of the Galaxy coaster is still under construction. This attraction is slated to open in 2021 and we can hardly wait!
As we previously reported, construction fencing and walls have gone up from Journey into Imagination toward Character Spot and around, blocking off the path heading into World Showcase. Remember that during the closure, the pathway between Future World and World Showcase is closed, so you’ll either have to walk all the way around or cut through the Character Spot/Club Cool building. Stay tuned to Disney Food Blog for more updates!
Construction in the France Pavilion for Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure AND the new crêperie is moving right along. We don’t have opening dates for these experiences yet, but both are expected to open in time for Disney World’s 50th-anniversary celebration. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more!
Last week, we reported that the area where the American Adventure Pavilion’s merchandise kiosk typically stands has been blocked off. The area now has new brickwork. If you want to visit the kiosk, you’ll find it near Germany’s Block & Hans stand for now.
Epcot Merchandise Update
Let’s talk about new merch, starting with everything we found at Mouse Gear!
We spotted the Special Edition Nala and Simba plushes ($19.99 each) and The Lion King tails ($24.99) we previously found in Disney’s Animal Kingdom.
Also in Mouse Gear, we found these adorable snack charms! According to a Cast Member, these are not new but we thought they were so cute!
Each charm is $5.99, and you purchase a bracelet or necklace for $9.99.
We love this Citrus Swirl charm!
We don’t think these are new, but we noticed the Magic Mirror Mouse Ears Keychain ($14.99) in Mouse Gear. This was the first time spotted this keychain from the Magic Mirror Metallic color trend!
After visiting Mouse Gear, we stopped by Der Teddybär in the Germany Pavilion, where we found the adorable Simba Steiff ($220). It doesn’t come cheap, but it sure is cute!
World Showcase Updates
While venturing through World Showcase, we spotted a couple of things we wanted to tell you guys about!
If you’re in the United Kingdom Pavilion, you can often see a hopscotch board written in chalk! If it’s there during your next visit, it’s be a great way for the kiddos to let off some steam.
In the Morocco Pavilion, we noticed that Aladdin is now meeting with Jasmine. According to a Cast Member, Aladdin joined her a little while ago, and they’re not sure how long he’ll stick around in the area.
