Welcome to our latest roundup of What’s New in Animal Kingdom!
We have new treats, menu updates, and fun merchandise to share with you, so let’s get started!
Animal Kingdom Food Update
Asia
Thirsty River Bar and Trek Snacks
has introduced a new Rainbow Push-Pop! The treat consists of rainbow layers of strawberry cake and strawberry buttercream and is topped with rainbow sprinkles.
We really enjoyed this colorful (and beautiful!) treat, which you can grab for $4.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit.

Sweet & Sour Tempura Shrimp
is BACK on the menu at Yak & Yeti Local Foods Cafe. You can get this meal, which comes with jasmine rice, for $13.99, but only for a limited time!
Discovery Island
In Discovery Island, Creature Comforts was featuring the new Rafiki Cupcake for $5.99 or a Disney Dining Plan snack credit. We also spotted this new treat at Restaurantosaurus in DinoLand U.S.A.
Learn more about the Rafiki Cupcake here!
At Tiffins, The Lion King dessert has replaced the Guava Mousse on the regular menu, but the Guava Mousse is still available on the Lunch Tasting Menu.
Africa
During our last visit to Animal Kingdom
, the Shave Ice Cart was nowhere to be found. Instead, they were selling the Shave Ice from the old Ribs Shop window in Harambe Market. This time, the cart was back near the seating area.
Pandora — The World of Avatar
In Pandora, the ACE Mobility Cart has added a cheese and cherry danish to the morning offerings for $4.25.
Multiple Locations
Various popcorn carts around Animal Kingdom still had The Lion King cups, canteens, and popcorn buckets during our visit.
Animal Kingdom Construction Update
Discovery Island
While we were on Discovery Island, we noticed that a small construction wall popped up in the area where they have Winged Encounters. We aren’t entirely sure of the purpose of this wall, but we confirmed that the show is still happening while the wall is there.
Animal Kingdom Merchandise Update
DinoLand U.S.A.
In Chester & Hester’s Dinosaur Treasures, we spotted an Oogie Boogie shirt ($24.99) that we recently found in Downtown Disney.
Discovery Island
We found additional merchandise inspired by The Nightmare Before Christmas in Riverside Depot, including a Jack and Sally trinket dish ($14.99)…
…a Jack Skellington notebook ($17.99)…
…and a Jack Skellington glow necklace ($17.00)!
We also found an assortment of The Nightmare Before Christmas ornaments for $19.99 each. We spotted Zero…
…Sally…
…Oogie Boogie…
…the Mayor of Halloween Town…
…Lock, Shock, & Barrel…
…and Jack Skellington himself!
Also in Riverside Depot, we noticed that the Bats informational sign was back with the Halloween merchandise.
If you’re ready to get in the Halloween spirit, we spotted this super cute Mickey pumpkin lanyard for $14.99!
We recently saw the Mickey Kitchen Line in Epcot, and now we’ve found it in Riverside Depot as well!
