The Play Disney Parks app is a pretty fun addition to the parks!

From letting you aid the Resistance (or side with the First Order) in Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney World, to playing a Matterhorn Mountaineer in line for Matterhorn Bobsleds, the app has really helped guests to be a part of the story of their favorite characters in the Disney parks. And now it looks like the Play Disney Parks app will be helping us go on an adventure with our favorite archaeologist!
We previously announced that the Indiana Jones Adventure would be joining the Disney Play App, and now we know in what capacity! “Indiana Jones Adventure – The Gifts of Mara” will be the newest feature added to the Play Disney Parks app — and it’s a real blast from the past!
Indiana Jones Adventure
If you visited Indiana Jones Adventure when it first opened in Disneyland in 1995, you might remember the decoder card that each visiting guest received. This decoder card helped guests translate and decipher the “Mara-glyphics” throughout the line as they waited to board the ride. Now, that decoder is back – in digital-form!

The new interactive feature will allow guests to use the app while in line for Indiana Jones Adventure, to “decode the ancient glyphs, along with some new symbols and codes that have been added throughout the queue, to piece together the legends of Mara”. Each part of the code that you translate will reveal part of a map – once you have completed the map, you might just receive a message from Mara!

We are SO excited to go on this adventure for our guy Indy, and think the new addition will have us actually looking forward to standing in line! To experience “Indiana Jones Adventure – The Gifts of Mara” for yourself, make sure you have the Play Disney Parks app downloaded for when you’re standing in the queue for the Indiana Jones Adventure! This feature should be available to enjoy NOW!
