If you are planning on visiting Hollywood Studios in the next month, you may want to double-check your itineraries. A fan-favorite show is set to undergo a brief refurbishment.
While we share a look at what will be down for refurbishment each week, we thought we’d give you guys a bit more of a heads up about another attraction. It looks like Muppet*Vision 3D is closing temporarily.
While we’ve been hearing that this may be happening for a while, Disney has officially confirmed it! On Disney’s website, the first date of the refurbishment is set for January 26th and we noticed that it will remain closed through February 8th.
Update: The attraction will now be closing on January 27th instead.
While we don’t know what this refurbishment entails, that does mean that Kermit, Miss Piggy, and the gang should be back when Muppet Vision reopens on February 9th, 2020 (so not a very long refurbishment). That is the date we saw a regular schedule re-appear on Disney’s website:
But, if you’re a Muppets fan, we know this closure could be a huge disappointment if you’re traveling to Disney World soon!
This adds Muppet*Vision 3D to the ever-growing list of attractions that are experiencing brief (as well as extended) refurbishments in 2020. This may all be in preparation for Disney World’s 50th Anniversary, which is set to kick off celebrations in October of 2021.
If the opening or closing refurbishment date for this attraction shifts, we will be sure to let you know.

Wouldn’t it be nice if we got a new movie experience for the Muppets? (Boy does that fire engine at the end of the show look oooooold!)
This makes sense to me. I was there this week and I particularly noticed poorly aimed lights on Statler and Waldorf, casting a shadow on half on one’s face. Nothing terrible, but I worried they’d forgotten about this gem in the park. Glad to see it’s getting some TLC.
NOOOOOOOOOOOOO! We go to HS on the 27th 😭😭💔💔 this is my mom and my favorite from my childhood. I was so looking forward to introducing my girls to it.
Sarah, keep an eye on the calendar! Things change all the time.
That fire engine was old when the movie came out!
