Hey there, DFB Friends! We are back to bring you everything that is new at Disney’s Art of Animation and Pop Century Resort!
Are you ready to get down to the nitty-not-so-gritty? Let’s waste no time and get started!
Pop Century Food Update
Everything Pop Shopping and Dining
We can’t say no to a delicious treat — or two! While grazing the bakery cases at Everything POP Shopping & Dining, we decided to try the updated Tie-Dye Cheesecake — a favorite here at DFB.
Did the cheesecake stand the test of time? Read our full review here.
Next, we also got our hands on the Birthday Sundae Cupcake — a funfetti, strawberry-filled absolute WONDER of a cupcake. Take all that and a scoop of vanilla frosting and we are SOLD. We don’t want to give away all the delicious details yet…
Check out the full review of the Birthday Sundae Cupcake here!
Pop Century Construction Updates
Lobby Construction
While exploring Pop Century, we came across a couple construction zones.
One of the construction zones was near the backside of the lobby’s building, where they appear to be adding in some type of roof.
Hippy Dippy Pool Construction
The biggest portion of the construction was the Hippy Dippy Pool. We aren’t entirely sure what they’re doing, but it looks like they are potentially resurfacing the pool!
We are curious to see what is to come with these renovations, and we will keep you posted as we learn more!
Pop Century Merchandise Update
One of our favorites pastimes is strolling through the gift shops at Disney resorts and today we found a few awesome purchases! We LOVE any excuse to pick up a bag of popcorn. The Cars-themed popcorn bags at Everything POP Shopping & Dining was no excuse!
If Lightning McQueen isn’t your fave don’t worry because they also offer a Cruz Ramirez bag as well! Each for $6.99.
Art of Animation Merchandise Update
We love how immersive the experience can be at Art of Animation! And it doesn’t stop at the gift shop, Ink & Paint Shop. Yesterday, we found some keychain sets while exploring Disney Springs and today we hit the absolute jackpot when we found another set in the collection!
It does not get any cuter than this, folks! This is perfect for the Mad Tea Party fan in your life. These sets are $16.99 each, but you get four keychains — which is quite the bargain for Disney! Have an annual pass? Don’t forget about that AP discount.
Get a closer look at all of the new keychains here!
Next, we found this insanely cute Minnie shirt for $36.99 as part of her Rock the Dots line! Minnie appears on the front, in a city enjoying a cup of tea — something we would definitely want to partake in! Perhaps a cup of Starbucks and a view of Main Street instead, though? Yeah, we like the sound of that 😉
You can check out the entire 2020 Rock the Dots collection here!
And we have found the CUTEST pair of DISNEY PARKS leggings you are going to want two pairs of! We say two because you already know a family member or friend is going to steal these out of your closet the second you get home! Or perhaps your suitcase– maybe get these leggings checked. That’s just how valuable they are.
COME ON. Just look at these! There’s even mini Space Mountains on them! They’re the perfect thing to match all the Space Mountain merch you just bought! 😉
You can find these at both Pop Century and Art of Animation for $39.99! Time to grab the family for a mini-vacay so you can get your hands on a pair of these!
Looking for more Disney leggings? Check out a few pairs here!
Well, that’s all for this round of what’s new at Disney’s Pop Century and Art of Animation Resorts! Be sure to check back for more Disney Parks and Resorts updates soon. 🙂

I stay at the Pop Century every year. I have to say the food at the food court has really gone downhill. It was terrible. The selections NEVER change and it was meh. The pizza is terrible. We hated the food. They really need to change this up. If you stay there for 7 days, you really get tired of the same old thing. I miss the flatbreads, quiche and salad bar. They need to change it up.

They have some really cute merch there though!

We were there in Nov, I can’t believe they are still working on the luggage and bell area!! I think that is what that is a picture of on the back side of POP!
Thanks for the POP update. One of our favs.

We staying at Art of Animation in Sept, booked up last year & just been told that the Big Blue Pool will be closed when we go Sept 2020, I would of thought doing work in January would be better as its still high season in Sept, if they dud work in January they have it done for summer holiday makers then to do work in mid season when most people holiday

Was our favorite and a place that made us so happy I can barely describe it. Unfortunately we will never stay there again if our most recent experience is an indicator of what’s to come. We’re terrified of heights/the skyliner, but were happy for everyone else. We thought any advancement is good for Disney as a whole and everyone’s experience. Then we checked in and found the bus was almost NEVER running. We couldn’t get a straight answer as to when to expect it. And were told that within a year there may be no bus service at PoP at all. How is it hard to understand that not everyone can do the skyliner and we’re basically being ripped off. We had to Uber FIVE TIMES. That has never and should never happen. So unbelievably disappointed…
