If you know us, you know we’re following any information about this new hotel/cruise-like experience like a hawk and we’ve got some exciting new details to share since our last update, because Disney is now hiring for positions aboard the Galactic Starcruiser!
When you finally step aboard the Halcyon, you’ll be living your very own Star Wars story. You’ll be able to use a lightsaber against a training remote, meet your favorite characters, and taste test some out-of-this-world eats. You’ll even get to make an excursion to Black Spire Outpost on Batuu during your two-night stay!
Disney is putting the immersive story-telling aspect of this new experience at the forefront and now they’re looking for an Admiral, excuse us, General Manager to lead the Halcyon and its crew. The position calls for experienced leadership abilities, qualities that a good starship captain needs with space pirates and the First Order lurking about.
This is going to be a more intimate, all-inclusive experience, so the actual hotel doesn’t take up a whole lot of land. We can see the entrance where we’ll check-in and get ready to climb aboard our “launch pod” to the Halcyon is coming together and how it compares to the concept art.
Walls are up around almost the entire “starcruiser” now. Our minds are racing with all the hijinks we can get up to on the Halcyon. I mean, they’re going to let US operate the ship’s defense systems!
This should be one of the most detailed and immersive experiences that Disney has ever created. For us Star Wars fans, we’re eager to see how Disney will allow us to create our own adventures among the stars. This brand new experience is set to open in 2021.
Disney also revealed earlier this month that we’ll be able to begin making our starcruiser reservations sometime later this year. If you can’t wait to make the jump to lightspeed, be on the lookout for more updates!
