PHOTO: Peek INSIDE Space 220 Restaurant Coming Soon to Disney World

Ready to eat in space? Well, Space 220, which is a new restaurant coming to EPCOT, may not actually take you physically off of planet Earth, but it’ll definitely make you feel like you’re floating among the stars.

Space 220 was announced some time ago and was originally supposed to open last winter, but has still not opened its doors. We’ve been keeping an eye on the construction progress we’ve been able to see from the outside, but today Disney gave us a small peek INSIDE the restaurant!

This morning, Josh D’Amaro gave a keynote speech at this year’s IAAPA (International Association of Amusement Parks and Attractions) virtual Expo. We’ve seen lots of updates from the expo including photos of the guests rooms coming to the Star Wars hotel, more information about Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure, and an update on the Splash Mountain reimagining. But, D’Amaro also showed a quick update about Space 220.

In a montage of photos showing some of the attractions and other areas that are coming soon to Disney parks around the world, a photo of Space 220 Restaurant appeared! The photo shows two Imagineers working on Space 220 — with some large “windows” showing planet Earth outside. We love how beautifully detailed and colorful the images in the “windows” appear to be.

We lightened up the photo some, giving us a better view of some of the tables and seating areas. You can see one sort-of rounded style chair near the Imagineer on the left, as well as some chairs and tables right up next to the “windows” on the lower level.

We still don’t have an official opening date for this restaurant, and its individual page on the Disney World website still says “Coming Soon!” but we were happy to see photos of the Imagineers hard at work, making our dreams to eat in space a reality. As we see more updates about this restaurant, we’ll definitely let you know about it. We’re definitely ready to “blast off” for an exciting culinary adventure, and we hope we’ll be able to do so at this spot soon!
