We’ve been enjoying Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway at Disney’s Hollywood Studios for a while now but things are starting to ramp up on the West Coast version!
We’ve known for some time now that Disneyland is getting its own Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway ride, but construction has been delayed. Now we have a construction photo of the work happening on this Disneyland project.
The construction photo shows that there’s still PLENTY of work to be done on Disneyland’s Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway. Of course, it’s mostly steel beams and scaffolding, but it’s progress, right?!
We previously reported that Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway is one of the top priorities on Disney’s long list of current projects. The first steel beam was laid back in September, and the ride is projected to open in 2023. It’s great to see that work is rolling along on Disneyland’s version of this ride!

Whereabouts in the park is it being built? Toontown?
Cindy says
I heard it was going to be in Toon Town, but that area is so crowded they have to get rid of something to make space. I wonder what they have taken down in order to build this ride? I rode it in Hollywood Studios; it’s definately fun and imaginative for the whole family, but it’s a kids ride.

Cindy, it’s going where the El CapiTOON Theater is.
