Although Disneyland Resort remains closed, Disney still has some pretty big plans in store for the 20th anniversary of Disney’s California Adventure!
The Buena Vista Street portion of the theme park has already reopened to guests for limited shopping and dining, but soon, the whole park will reopen — with a catch.
That catch is that rides will not reopen with the park, but guests will still get a chance to attend a special ticketed experience at California Adventure. And now, we have even MORE information about this special ticketed event!
This ticketed experience will be called A Touch of Disney. The event will take place starting March 18th, 2021, and tickets will go on sale on March 4th.
First of all, guests will get able to get their Disneyland treats fix. There will be churros, Dole Whip, and even the classic Monte Cristo Sandwich! These will also be available in small portions for snacking at locations like Smokejumpers Grill, Adorable Snowman Frosted Treats, Award Wieners, and Cocina Cucamonga.
Some shops on Buena Vista Street and Pixar Pier will also be open to sell sweet treats, nuiMOs plushes, and more.
And there will be CHARACTERS! You can expect to see Mickey and friends, Mater, Lightning McQueen, Joy, and Sadness! There will also be new photo spots and a specially curated soundtrack of reimagined Disney songs.
Lastly, there’s TWO options for sit-down dining. Both Lamplight Lounge and Carthay Circle Lounge will be available starting March 11th. Sonoma Terrace will also be open for quick-service. Make sure you have a valid A Touch of Disney ticket to dine!
The event starts March 18th, 2021, and will run on Thursdays through Mondays from 12PM-8PM. The introductory $75 ticket includes admission, parking, unlimited PhotoPass downloads, AND a $25 dining card.
Keep in mind that Buena Vista Street will remain open as an extension of Downtown Disney through March 14th. On March 15th, it will close, so it can reopen on March 18th as part of A Touch of Disney!
You can grab your tickets on the official Disneyland website beginning March 4th for select days from March 18th. Tickets will be released on a rolling basis, and must be purchased in advance and online. If we get any more details, we’ll be sure to let you know! Stay tuned to DFB.

Sounds like fun, but the $75.00 ticket price is way too much for an event like this. Take away the rides and attractions, you’re basically paying to enter the park and spend even more money on food, drinks, snacks and souvenirs. Plus you will still have pay for parking (probably another $25.00. To me it is just not worth it.
