Today marks the first day that guests did not need to obtain a boarding pass to ride Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge in Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
And as a result, we saw some crowds and some pretty hefty wait times for the attraction that is currently only using a standby-only line. But there will soon be a few ways to beat the line!
One of those ways will be through the Individual Attraction Selection through the Disney Genie section of the My Disney Experience app. BUT…that will cost an additional upcharge to access the Lightning Lane for Rise of the Resistance.

You will be able to ride Rise of the Resistance faster if you pay for it…
HOWEVER, there’s another way you can try to beat the lines for “FREE,” but you’ll have to be staying at a Disney World resort hotel. That’s through Early Theme Park Entry, which starting October 1st will allow resort guests to visit ANY park 30 minutes earlier than other guests.

And now, Disney has officially confirmed that Rise of the Resistance will be one of the rides open for resort guests for Early Theme Park Entry Access. The ride is listed on Disney World’s Early Theme Park Entry page.

Remember, though, that the only way to get Early Theme Park Entry is to stay at an eligible Disney World resort hotel — we’ve put up a full list of hotels here that get that specific perk.

Rise of the Resistance will be available for Early Theme Park Entry guests
And don’t forget there is a THIRD more expensive way to ride Rise of the Resistance without the long wait, too — although it’s through a pricey VIP Tour.

We’ll keep you updated on Early Theme Park Entry, as well as everything else new coming to Disney World, so stay tuned!
