REVIEW: The 50th Anniversary Mickey Bar Is Definitely WEIRDER Than the Original

October 1st is HERE which means it’s Disney World’s 50th anniversary!

There are SO many things to look forward to today including new shows, fireworks, entertainment, special experiences, and most importantly: FOOD! Although Disney World is releasing over 150(!!!) treats for the 50th anniversary, sometimes nothing beats a classic Disney snack like a Mickey pretzel or a Mickey’s Premium ice cream bar. Well, Disney decided to give a classic snack a 50th Anniversary makeover, but is it better than the OG?

When you visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom, you’ll want to visit Drinkwallah to find this new 50th Anniversary treat. Located in the Asia section of Animal Kingdom, this is where you’ll find the NEW Hand-Dipped 50th Celebration Mickey’s Premium Bar!

Hand-Dipped Mickey Bar

This treat is made of a classic Mickey’s Premium Ice Cream Bar that is hand-dipped in a blue raspberry-flavored coating with celebration sprinkles and pixie dust! You can get it at Drinkwallah for $6.69.

Dipping Station

We thought this treat was really unique and fun, as it puts a unique spin on the classic treat! Initially, the blue raspberry flavor felt a little bit strange with the chocolate, but after a few bites we felt like it actually worked together pretty well!

And we can’t deny that it’s an awesome snack to grab for your 50th Anniversary photos!

Mickey Bar

We ended up enjoying the blue raspberry flavor mixed with the chocolate, but the mix might not be for everyone. Some might find it to be a weird combo. But, the blue raspberry flavor wasn’t overwhelming, which is why we felt like it worked.

The chocolate was definitely the dominant flavor out of the two, but you could still taste some of the blue raspberry there. If you aren’t a fan of blue raspberry or don’t like the idea of even a subtle blue raspberry flavor mixed with chocolate, you might want to avoid this treat.

It’s so pretty!

If you love Mickey bars, like blue raspberry flavors, and want to add a little 50th flair to your treat, this is a great option! But if you’re a purist when it comes to Disney treats (or you just hate blue raspberry), the new additions might not be your favorite.
