To ensure we are equipping our readers with all the information they need, we will continue to report on all travel, safety, and COVID-related news that could impact a Disney Parks visit.
Ever since Disney World reopened to guests in 2020, the parks have seen shorter wait times, smaller crowds, and lower capacities. As things begin to return to “normal”, we’ve seen some changes around the parks and resorts. The further into the year we get, the more Disney is beginning to feel like it did before the pandemic.
But one major thing is still pretty different in Disney: many international guests haven’t been able to visit Disney World since reopening. Soon, though, that will change.
Beginning on November 8th, the U.S. will lift the foreign travel ban, allowing international travelers to visit the country once again. Visitors will need proof of vaccination and are subject to enhanced COVID testing.
What does this mean for Disney World? According to Click Orlando, the Orlando area is expecting a huge influx of visitors after the restrictions are lifted. Casandra Matej, President and CEO of Visit Orlando, recently said “Visit Orlando is in London literally inviting our UK friends back to Orlando because we’re open, we know you can travel safely and we now know the protocols.”
According to Matej, international tourists contribute $6 billion to Central Florida’s economy each year. If you’re planning on visiting Disney World soon, prepare for more crowds with the influx of international travelers.
We’ll continue to update you on any COVID-19 related information that could impact your Disney World trip.

Very glad my family of 5 got our trip in before the border is open to the UK. It was very crowded in October, can’t imagine what it will be like when the foreigners come.
The lines for rides were horrendous for the most popular. We didn’t get on some we wanted to. Refused to pay extra $$$ for a ride that last a few minutes when the admission prices were very high already. They WORKED! Then if you are in a “value” resort or hotel, you only get an early30 min before the park opens…while the “deluxe” guest got a couple of hours after parks close. We spent over 8k and was extremely disappointed. Our last trip in 2018 as much better for the amt of $$$ spent & could stay longer after the parks closed. This new CEO is the worst ever! Bring back the free fast passes. Bring back the dining plans including the free quick service! They worked! If people still wanted to pay for a ride, they had the option. This new free Genie was a joke. No help whatsoever. The times it “recommended” to go on rides were never good times for us. The “recommendation” was always when we would no longer be in that park due to park hopping to another. I truly hate their new system. I seriously doubt Mr. Walt Disney would have treated guest thus way!
