Before you head to Disney World, there’s one big thing you should do that a lot of people forget about — checking the list of refurbishments!
Throughout the year, various Disney attractions will close briefly to get routine maintenance. Sometimes those refurbishments are short, only lasting a week or so, while other times they may stretch on for months or even years (we’re looking at you, Walt Disney World Railroad!). Right now, Expedition Everest is in the middle of a three-month refurb, and we noticed some changes at the ride today!
We make sure to take a look at the Forbidden Mountain every time we stroll through Animal Kingdom, just to see what’s going on and if anything has changed. Today when we stopped by, the ride vehicles were testing!
👀👀 Caught some testing today. It’s still expected to be closed for refurbishment until mid-April. pic.twitter.com/AEUZ8wnzex

It was a little odd to see the ride going without any passengers, but we’ve definitely missed watching those trains go up the mountain. It was eerily quiet…we’re used to lots of guests screaming going down that big drop!
👀 Here’s some more, although it’s not quite the same without the screams 😂 pic.twitter.com/dHh4BMnu5I

Disney hasn’t shared any details on what’s going on during this refurbishment, but it’s currently expected to be done in April. We’ll keep you updated if any of that changes in the coming weeks!
