Disney World is changing, people!
From huge changes like new attractions and even new Resort hotel villas to the smaller changes, like a menu update here and a schedule change there — there’s no shortage of updates around Disney World. We already shared that the tumble monkeys from Disney’s A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King would be returning this summer, and now it looks like we know exactly when!
Heads up, Disney fans! If you’re heading to Animal Kingdom this July, you might be saddened to know that A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King will be unavailable for quite a few days at the beginning of the month.
From July 5th to July 15th, 2022, A Celebration of Festival of the Lion King will be unavailable with no performances throughout the day so that Disney can prepare for the full show, Festival of the Lion King, to return.
Not only that, but thanks to Landon McReynolds from News 6 we now know that the full Festival of the Lion King show will be returning with tumble monkeys, birds, and all on July 16th, 2022!
We can’t wait to see this epic entertainment offering in all its glory once again. For the latest news from Disney World, be sure to stay tuned to DFB!

Finally! The tumble monkeys are coming back, I love those guys!
You got to love the tumble monkeys.
Thank goodness as it’s rubbish without it
Good show, I enjoyed it
We were there yesterday and it was not the same. It was over quickly. It felt like a lot was missing. I’m glad they are bringing it back.
Very exciting news! One of our favorite shows. Hope we the audience get to be involved again too! Miss singing “in the jungle, the mighty jungle” and getting to roar (we seem to always get seated in Simba’s section).
Why would you close it for the Fourth of July week? I’m sure the park will be packed so let’s close the only show open at the Animal Kingdom.
So excited to see Festival of the Lion King on July 24th!
The headline made me think it was gone forever. What a relief that it is just a temporary closure.
