It is a BUSY time in Disney World!
The 2022 EPCOT Food & Wine Festival kicks off on July 14th, not to mention that tickets are now on sale for BOTH Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party AND Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party. But, those aren’t the only updates you’ll find from the parks, because Disney World is CHANGING. If you’re heading to the parks soon, it’s important to stay updated on everything going on — so let’s take a look at the biggest Disney World construction updates from this week!
Magic Kingdom
TRON: Lightcycle Run
TRON is set to be the newest roller coaster to come to Magic Kingdom — though we’re not entirely sure when that will be happening. Disney has stayed quiet on the opening timeline for TRON. This week, we saw some additional work being done to the walkway beneath the ride’s canopy.Â
We recently caught a glimpse of the nighttime lighting for TRON and all we can say is WOW! This attraction will have guests racing through the skies on “Lightcycles” and we can’t wait for it to open!
We’re keeping an eye out for the latest TRON updates, so be sure to stay tuned for the latest.

EPCOT
Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana
EPCOT is going through a MAJOR transformation — and right now, the very center of what once was Future World is a giant construction zone. Here we can see more rock formations being added to the water-based Moana attraction that will be in this area.
Disney is also making way for CommuniCore Hall and CommuniCore Plaza — you can read more about them here!

Disney’s Hollywood Studios
Toy Story Mania Gift Shop
The Toy Story Mania Gift Shop has been under construction for quite some time now, and Disney has not yet shared what exactly the plans are for this location. For now, guests exiting the ride have been making their way through a detour.
We’ll continue to keep an eye out for more news on the Toy Story Mania Gift Shop!

Disney Resorts
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Tropical vibes, delicious food, and fun cocktails await you at Disney’s Polynesian Resort — just keep in mind that this hotel is undergoing a major expansion. Because of this, certain areas of the resort are walled off to guests and the Spirit of Aloha Dinner Show building has been demolished.Â
BUT, all-new guest rooms, dining options, and merchandise locations will be coming along with the Polynesian expansion!
The construction is scheduled to be completed in late 2024, so stay tuned for updates.
