Let’s take a look at the latest construction progress on the Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana attraction at EPCOT!
In recent years, EPCOT has been undergoing a massive transformation that includes new rides, restaurants, stores, and more. A few of the new additions have opened over the course of the past few months, including Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, Creations Shop, Connections Cafe and Eatery, and Remy’s Ratatouille Adventure. And now we’re taking a look at the construction progress of one of the other new attractions that’s heading to the park!
When it’s complete, Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana will give guests the chance to play and interact with water as it travels from the skies to the ocean and back again. According to Disney, the attraction will be a lush exploration trail where guests can meet and play with magical, living water.
We recently saw some brand new concept art of the attraction, and now we’re taking a peek at how far the actual construction has come along!
When heading to EPCOT this morning, we took a close look at the latest Journey of Water construction updates that were visible from the Monorail.
It looks like work is continuing on the rock structures that we previously spotted under construction in the area. The structures still appear to be in an early stage of construction, but it’s exciting to see some of the features of the attraction continue to take shape!
There’s a ton of construction equipment at the work site. And while most of the areas don’t have quite as much shape as the rock formations above, we can see some beams and supports throughout the area that may be used to begin building out other prominent features.
It looks like there’s still quite a bit of construction to go, but it’s exciting to see the level of activity that’s happening in the area!
Disney hasn’t revealed an opening date for Journey of Water yet, but if you are ready to experience a new EPCOT attraction NOW, don’t forget that Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind just opened last month! The new ride currently has a virtual queue and is available as an Individual Attraction Selection, so be sure to check out our tips for how to snag a spot on the new ride before your next trip!
We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more updates around EPCOT and ALL of the Disney World parks, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest news!
