The launch of MagicBand+ in Disney World has finally begun!

After accidentally releasing some MagicBand+ bands earlier this year, MagicBand+ officially launches in Disney World on July 27th. We’ve already shared details about how this new device will turn you into a Bounty Hunter, how it’ll feel DIFFERENT than the classic MagicBand, and more, but now we’ve got even more to share!
A big thanks to reader Joe (@schreiberjoe on Instagram) for alerting us to this! Various pre-arrival MagicBand+ designs are now “live” for those who have upcoming Disney World Resort hotel reservations.

The choices can be seen in the My Disney Experience app. There is a pre-arrival discount too, which could save you some cash!

For guests who do not qualify for the pre-arrival discount, a solid MagicBand+ will cost $34.99, while a band with a design will cost $44.99. For the pre-arrival discount, those prices drop $10, to $24.99 (for solid bands) and $34.99 (for bands with designs).

Note that Disney has also said that Annual Passholders may be able to get a discount on customized MagicBand+ designs as well. If you’re an Annual Passholder, you should be eligible for that discount 6 or more days before your park reservation and the discount can be redeemed once during the year of your Annual Pass.

MagicBand+ is set to launch today in Walt Disney World and designs should be available to purchase in the parks. MagicBand+ designs are also set to become available today on shopDisney at 7AM PT (10AM ET), so you can shop for your favorite one from the comfort of your own home!

I was given those same options this morning. In the my Disney experience app, I was having a hard time finding where to find them until I went into the my magic bands section and it was sitting right there in the same place where you used to get your complementary mb when you renew your AP. I was going to get the blue castle one with Walt and Mickey until I saw the hot pink one. I was also able to customize it with my name. My husband didn’t have this on his app so I don’t know what happened but I’m glad it did.
Can you get the discount with Swan and Dolphin reservations, or is it only with Disney owned resorts?
Already purchased my magic band for September visit. But this is the old magic band. Can I exchange it for the new magic + bands ?
