The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th Anniversary, and a LOT has happened in the past 100 years. Even within the past five years, Disney World alone has changed in dozens of ways. If you traveled back in time to the year 2018, imagine how shocked people would be to hear that FastPasses (or “Lightning Lanes” as they’re called these days) now cost extra!

Speaking of Lightning Lanes, let’s talk about the cost. Recently, the price of Disney Genie+ reached $35, but now that spring break is over, has the price decreased? Let’s take a look!
From a ten-day period of April 4th through April 14th, Genie+ was $35 per person, per day — a record-high price for Disney’s FastPass+ replacement service. Many speculated that the price increase was due to both high spring break crowds and the new TRON Lightcycle / Run ride opening in Magic Kingdom. Disney’s new surge pricing method is definitely in effect!

Luckily, it seems like things may have cooled off just a little bit; Disney’s Genie+ service is $25 today, April 15th. That’s a whopping $10 difference!

We checked out the Individual Lightning Lane prices as well to see if there were any changes, but it looks like the cost of those “fancy rides” hasn’t changed.

The current $25 price tag for Genie+ is the lowest we’ve seen it this month! We’ll be sure to keep our eyes on the price to see how the service changes from day to day. In the meantime, stay tuned for all the latest Disney news and park updates.
