NEWS: Genie+ SELLS OUT Two Days in a Row at Record-High Prices

OK, first, a little background. On December 27th, Disney World was BUSY. Park Pass reservations completely sold out at all four parks, which essentially means the parks reached capacity. Additionally, it was $39 to use Genie+ at multiple parks or Magic Kingdom. That’s $39 per person for one day — a new record-high price based on Disney’s surge pricing system. So, what happens when this perfect storm of events happens in one day? Let’s take a look.

Here at DFB, we’re on the lookout for daily changes at the parks, both enormous and subtle. The constant we’ve noticed is that the parks are always changing. This comes as no surprise, as this was ultimately a plan of Walt Disney’s when he opened his first park in Anaheim. Still, as cool as it is to see the parks change and evolve over time, these modifications and adjustments can create some challenges when it comes to trip planning.

Ever heard the phrase, “Never let them know you’re next move?” Well, Disney certainly seems to take that stance. One moment, we’re enjoying a nice, clear World Showcase Lagoon; the next, there are giant poles sticking up out of the water. Yeah, you might as well give up trying to predict what Disney will do next.

NEWS: Genie+ Sees Price CUT in Disney World

Oh, Genie+. One moment we’re watching the price skyrocket; the next, we’re celebrating a lower cost for Disney’s service to skip the standby lines. We get it. There have been a lot of changes to Genie+ since it was first introduced. Some changes are surprisingly good, while others are…not so great.

One of the latest changes to hit Disney’s Genie+ service is a new multi-park option for guests hoping to use Genie+ in multiple parks on the same day. In the past, the price to use Genie+ was the same for all four parks, but now the cost of Genie+ may vary from park to park, or guests can buy the new multi-park option to use Genie+ in multiple parks. The change went live on June 27th, but now let’s check to see how things are looking after the big debut.

Two BIG Announcements We’re Expecting From Disney This Week

Land agreements, layoffs, and lawsuits. It’s been a busy couple of months for The Walt Disney Company. As we wait for the upcoming earnings call on May 10th, many Disney fans are sitting on the edge of their seats and waiting for some BIG Disney news.

During previous earnings calls, we’ve seen announcements for new movies, new theme park experiences, and so much more. You never know what kind of news bombs could drop! While we wait for the official earnings call, we can speculate on what could be shared this May. Could we get some new attractions? New dining? Let’s talk about it.

What We’re DREADING about Disney World This Summer

Lately, it seems like every time we turn around, there’s a new price increase or exorbitant price tag attached to a Disney experience (looking at you, Galactic Starcruiser!). Just when we got used to paying extra for airport transportation, Disney made FastPasses an additional fee. Then, just when we got used to paying extra to skip the lines, Disney introduced surge pricing on its Genie+ service. It’s not cheap to visit Disney World, that’s for sure!

The Magic Kingdom can get SUPER busy around the holidays!

With all the recent price increases, we’re left wondering, if Genie+ hit $35 and sold out this spring, how high will the price go this summer?

This Is the LOWEST Price We’ve Seen for Genie+ in Disney World in a LONG Time!

In early April, we were looking at some of the most EXPENSIVE Genie+ prices we’ve ever seen in Disney World. We’re talking a hefty $35 per person, per day price tag to use Disney’s Genie+ service to skip the lines. Ouch!

Genie+ Is the CHEAPEST We’ve Seen in Disney World This Month!

The Walt Disney Company is celebrating its 100th Anniversary, and a LOT has happened in the past 100 years. Even within the past five years, Disney World alone has changed in dozens of ways. If you traveled back in time to the year 2018, imagine how shocked people would be to hear that FastPasses (or “Lightning Lanes” as they’re called these days) now cost extra!
