For many, Genie+ is considered a necessity in Disney World, particularly for those visitors who don’t want to spend a lot of their time standing in lines for rides.
However, the price of Genie+ is based on demand, and we’ve seen the price of Genie+ go as high as $35 during the Spring Break season. However, it’s also been lower than that since, but on April 23rd, the price of Genie+ is the lowest we’ve seen since early February!
We keep track of Genie+ pricing and today, when we checked the pricing, we saw that it was at just $15 per person. According to our data, that’s the lowest price we’ve seen since February 4th. So we can say with some certainty that it seems like the Spring Break season is really over.
We can also say this could be a really good time to visit Disney World, too. A lower Genie+ price generally also means fewer people in the parks, as well as lower wait times for rides. In fact, depending on your ride priorities, you might even be able to skip using Genie+ completely, especially if you take advantage of rope drop or Early Theme Park Entry (available to Disney World hotel guests).
However, some rides might still warrant paying for them, particularly those more popular rides that use the Individual Lightning Lane Option. This also includes TWO rides that do not have standby lines, but use the virtual queue system: Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind in EPCOT and TRON Lightcycle / Run in Magic Kingdom. If you don’t want to take a chance NOT getting a space in the virtual queue, you can pay for the Individual Lightning Lane option to hop in those rides’ Lightning Lanes.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on Genie+ prices in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more. In the meantime, when are you headed to Disney World next?
