Ahoy there, mateys! A new gathering spot is coming soon!
Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean attraction has had quite the influence, spawning a series of films based on the ride, themed pirate nights aboard the Disney Cruise Lines, and now one more pirate-inspired location is set to weigh anchor at Disney World.
Disney just announced plans at Destination D23 that a new tavern is in the works for Adventureland in Magic Kingdom. That’s right, there’s a new Pirate-themed area that will be available for guests of all ages to tell their tales from land and sea. Recognize that bird? It’s the Barker Bird, who will take up residence in a NEW location!
According to Disney, “This first-of-its-kind experience will extend the story of Pirates of the Caribbean.” We can’t wait to see what Imagineers have in store!
Disney shared this hilarious video to announce the news, complete with some excellent Captain Jack Sparrow impersonations.

Disney didn’t share many of the other details, such as what will be served, when it will open, or exactly where it will be located around Adventureland, but we’re excited to keep watching for more announcements on it later.

I wish they would do something like at Disneyland California. Blue Bayou is amazing. The food and ambiance are fabulous!

I definitely would visit a pirates’s tavern but it must have exceptional food and beverages.
It also must not cost an over charging of dabloons.

I’m definitely one to hold onto nostalgia and not embrace change easily but THIS I am excited for. I hope it’s over the top themed and immersive AND sells pirate themed rum cocktails 🍹!!!
Mark says
One thing is for certain, it could take years or decades for Disney to open this. Don’t count on any opening date until you actually walk through the door and get service!
