If you had a problem snagging a dining reservation in EPCOT lately, it seems you’re not alone!

Since the short time it’s been open, we’ve already seen Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya undergo a transformation and we’ve had a chance to try out the menu ourselves. But if you’ve also been dreaming of your own incredible dining experience here and had a problem snagging a reservation, we may have a workaround for you!
The popular Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya restaurant opened its doors late this past summer after taking over the former Tokyo Dining restaurant. It’s located in the upstairs portion of the Japan pavilion in EPCOT just above the Mitsukoshi department store. The menu is sushi-focused with a few rice and noodle options along with selections from the grill.

Recently, though, we learned that some people were having a problem picking up available reservations for the restaurant. A quick check of the Disney World website showed no reservations for Shiki-Sai Sushi Izakaya from November 24th through December 2nd, 2023.

We were curious as to how just over a week’s worth of reservations for this one restaurant was showing no availability. We decided to dig into this a bit deeper and ultimately ended up calling Mitsukoshi. We were told the lack of reservations is a system error that they’re working on fixing. Mitsukoshi also told us to check back later and advised that anyone looking to book a dining reservation during these dates was welcome to call them directly and they will make reservations for you!
UPDATE: It looks like Shiki-Sai has fixed the system error — reservation times are once again showing up on the Disney World website.

This comes as a welcomed relief being so close to the holidays and so many people looking for a special dining experience while visiting Disney World.
